The Hills – Episode 4-9 Review

Yawwwwn. This week’s Hill’s drama was kept to a minimum in an episode packed with dwelling upon the past.

It was the first episode in a while that we got a break from Stephanie and Brody. Little did we all realize, that’s where a lot of the drama has been coming from. This episode was almost boring while it focused too much on the Audrina/Justin story. But I must say it was interesting to watch this week considering the recent rumors circulating about a past Lauren/Justin hookup (which I sincerely doubt myself).

Anyway, Lauren has been spending a lot of time catching up with Holly lately. Naturally, Heidi is jealous. Holly seems to be playing matchmaker in hopes of reconnecting the two frenemies. While Lauren seems somewhat open to a reconciliation, she has one condition: Spencer not be in the picture. We all know that’s not happening anytime soon, so it looks like the reunion will have to wait a while. Or at least until Heidi starts listening to what everyone she knows is telling her and what she is painfully oblivious to.

Audrina goes on a date and is reluctant to tell Justin. At this point, I have a hard time caring about these two. Bu, the look on Justin’s face when she told him about the date was pretty amusing.

Lauren receives a letter from Heidi apologizing and essentially taking responsibility for everything that happened. While she believes the letter to be genuine, Lauren doesn’t really know what to make of it. It’s not about Heidi, she says, as she forgave her a long time ago. It’s all about Spencer. It’s funny to watch the girls ponder a world where Heidi and Spencer never met. I’ll be honest, I’d like to see that world, but if that were the case, there would be no show.

When Spencer finds out about the letter and Heidi’s thoughts of making up with Lauren, he immediately gets in attack mode. He’s the kind of guy you would expect some redeeming qualities from—just one little thing to make us even the slightest bit sympathetic. But no, he remains his unsupportive and condescending self.

Dare I say that I actually felt bad for Heidi this week. I mean, she clearly has no friends and is caught up in a world where Spencer remains dictator. Next week should be good as Spencer gives Heidi an ultimatum between he and Holly. Come on Heidi, kick him to the curb already.
