Gossip Girl – Episode 2-25 Review

Finally! Before we start with the recap, I have to announce the most important and exciting part of the finale. Although I had predicted he would say it, Chuck DID finally  admit and tell Blair that he loves her too! Now us Chair (Chuck/Blair) fans can rest easy this summer and hope that the writers won’t break them up immediately next season (which, let’s be honest, is very likely).

It’s graduation time for these Upper East Siders and of course, it’s no typical graduation. Serena doesn’t even wear her cap. Apparently she’s too hip for that fashion faux-pas, and decides to subtly wear the tassel in her hair…OK.

Anyway, graduation was interrupted by blasts from Gossip Girl attacking everyone. Serena decides to rally everyone together in a band against Gossip Girl to reveal her identity. They all figure  it must be someone their age that goes to their school, and for a while thought it was Eric’s boyfriend. Turns out, Jonathan has tapped into GG’s network and can see all of his/her emails. Nonetheless, they can’t find her.

Blair was on a mission to crown the new queen bee, a title Jenny was after so she can apparently corrupt the entire social ladder. After telling her she would never get the crown, Blair gives it to her, much to the dismay of her minions.

Rufus and Lily’s long lost son Scott has been hanging around coffee shops stalking Dan. Should be interesting next season to see Rufus and Lily possibly marry. Not sure what this means for S and D’s relationship, but I’m sure it will scream awkward. Sharing a sibling and having your parents married? Definitely weird.

It also should be interesting to see the whole “college life” since most teen dramas don’t last past graduation. Blair, Dan and Vanessa will be at NYU (oh, and Georgina who is determined to room with Blair) while Nate is at Colombia. Serena was first going to Yale then Brown so who knows where she will end up. From the looks of it, she is more concerned about finding her father. Should be an interesting season, especially since (surprise!–not!) Gossip Girl will be following them to college.

My plea to the writers is to please, not mess it up. Take the lessons from teen dramas past and learn from them! See you in the fall! XOXO.
