Colin Hanks Joins FOX Cop Pilot

Colin Hanks has joined Bradley Whitford in Jack and Dan, a FOX series about a pair of mismatched cops.

Hanks (The House Bunny, Mad Men) will play a straight-arrow officer who has a tendency to get in his own way, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He’s partnered with Whitford (Studio 60, The West Wing), a veteran cop with a sketchy personal life. Action and comedy ensue.

Burn Notice creator Matt Nix is executive producing the show, which has a 13-episode order and will be produced under the international co-production model that has also produced Mental and Defying Gravity.

The plot also sounds similar to another project that Whitford was involved in earlier this year: Off Duty, an NBC comedy pilot that co-starred Romany Malco and which the network opted not to pick up.
