The 21st season of The Real World is currently airing on MTV with the third episode premiering tonight, Wednesday, January 21 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. This season returns to New York City, but this time the setting is in Brooklyn. This was the first time that there were 8 roommates inside The Real World house. This was also the first time, since season 4 that the roommates didn’t have a “group job”. Each roommate got the chance to pursue their own interests. Like always, the house was made up of 8 diverse personalities. The other day I got a chance to talk to a couple of the roommates.

First up was Katelynn Cusanelli. Katelynn is 24 from West Palm Beach, Florida. Katelynn is an Italian-American transwoman who had a rough childhood. She first realized her gender dysphoria in high school and began living as a woman at 17, which was difficult given her rigid, Sicilian family.[13] She completed her gender reassignment surgery in Thailand in July 2008. She is a self-described computer geek, and holds a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. She has a boyfriend named Mike whom she hopes to marry. In the season premiere, she initially reveals her transgender status only to J.D.

Here is what Katelynn had to say about her Real World experience…

Josh Clinton: Hey Katelynn.

Katelynn Cusanelli: Hi.

JC: How are you doing?

KC: I’m doing good. How are you?

JC: I’m good. So were you a big fan of The Real World before getting on this show?

KC: Not so much. Okay, I was a 90s kid so I obviously grew up watching The Real World. But the last season I followed religiously was The Real World: Hawaii. Then after that, though, I didn’t really pay attention to it.

JC: Why did you try out for the show then or did they come find you?

KC: Well there was a casting call in Miami that my best friend heard about and she dragged me along with her. I totally didn’t want to go, but I had the day off and she was my friend, so I went. While I was in line waiting with her, one of people running the casting call, told me “hey, since you waiting with your friend, you might as well fill out an application”. So that is how it all began.

JC: Yeah. So after the initial application, what was the casting process like for you then?

KC: They did a bunch of different rounds. They did a couple of more interviews down in Miami, and every time I kept getting called back I thought that was the round I was going to lose it. Because I am nothing like what is on the current seasons of The Real World. I work 40+ hours a week, I have a steady job, my life is pretty normal and, what I would feel, is uninteresting. So every time I kept getting called back, I was surprised. I was wondering what was going on. Finally, in one of the last few rounds I said “why am I even here? I am so uninteresting and I am nothing like you have ever cast before, why am I here?” Then, I got the call that I was on the show. It was crazy.

JC: When did they know that you were a transgender?

KC: That came out fairly early. My life is an open book. I have been an advocate in the community for coming up on a decade now. So that is something they found out early on.

JC: Did you think that was probably the reason you got on the show?

KC: I honestly don’t know the reasons why I am on the show. I don’t know if it’s just because I am trans or because I am multi-faceted or the fact that I cam be kinda crazy at times. Any one of the above could be the reason why I got cast on the show.

JC: Right, okay. Do you feel any obligation of being a role model for others out there that might be feeling the same thing you did growing up?

KC: I kinda went on the show with that in mind. Once I got the call that I was selected, I had a choice. I could either go back to my “normal” life or I could take this as an opportunity to be a voice in the community that I have worked in so vehemently for the last 10 years. So I chose to be a voice instead, so yes, I take that full on.

JC: Cool. You had a boyfriend before you went on the show, right?

KC: Correct.

JC: Did you have any concern about your relationship with him because of the time and distance away from him?

KC: Well my boyfriend and I, up until the last few months I found out I was on the show, were in a long-distance relationship. So I had mixed feelings on being cast. I had just moved to Montana so that we could be together, and we are finally together, but now oh great we have to be away from each other again for four months. So it kinda sucked. Whether or not we could handle the distance? We had been doing that for a year and half prior to the show, so the distance wasn’t that big of a factor.

JC: What about the temptation of being around new people, especially inside the house?

KC: There wasn’t any real temptation while I was on the show. None of the housemates seemed to have any real sexual tension between them. At least I didn’t feel like there was any. But even if there was, my boyfriend is someone I would envision sharing the rest of my life with. So temptation was never an issue either.

JC: Okay. So how much of the show have you seen so far? Just the first couple of episodes?

KC: I have seen the first three episodes. We get advance copies of the episodes about a week before they air. So I have seen a bit more of the show than you have.

JC: So far then, do you think you have been portrayed accurately? Is the Katelynn we see on TV, the same person we would find in real life?

KC: The show pretty much portrays you true to form. Even though I know a lot of people had issues with the editing of the show. The only issues I have with editing was the chronology of everything. Some things happened at different places and times than were actually shown. But the actual portrayal of their personality and character, that is really them. That is who they really are.

JC: Okay. Sometimes it seems like the Real World producers cast people with conflicting personalities just for the sake of drama. Do you think they try to force the drama?

KC: Well how is that different than everyone’s everyday life? When you are forced to interact with co-workers you don’t necessarily like or you run into someone on the subway who is being a real jerk. How is that different than your normal life? Yes, there are conflicting personalities out there in the world. Whether or not they cast them specifically for the purposes of drama, I think they cast them more to see how well different cultures and personalities interact and live together. How they can coincide and life together.

JC: Yeah, I understand. Do you think any of your roommates played to camera at all? Like if the cameras weren’t around, do you think they would be doing what they did?

KC: No, not really. To be honest, you learn to ignore the cameras pretty quickly. Because if you always play to the cameras, the camera crew tends to recognize that fairly quickly.

JC: Okay. This is the first season since season four to not have a “house job”. You could all do what you wanted to do. How do you think that all turned out?

KC: I think it turned out great. For a lot of us, our jobs became our sanctuary. Which is really different than how normal people live their lives. Normally you go home to escape the world. For us, we went to work to escape our life in the house. I think it worked out really great, because all of our interests were so different this time around, that having a group project would have been really bad.

JC: Yeah. So you don’t think it hurt the bonding between you and your roommates then?

KC: If anything, I think it helped it. When you are forced to live with someone, the more time you spend apart, the better it is. So we all would work different jobs and when we came home we would want to spend time with each other. I couldn’t imagine having to work with everyone else that I lived with. It would have just made things so much worse.

JC: Okay. Did your opinions of any of the roommates change from the beginning of the show to the end of it?

KC: The roommates as a collective, all of 8 of us, experienced that the suspicions we had of each other changed dramatically as time progresses. And that definitely all plays out on camera.

JC: Alright, cool. Did you learn anything about yourself while being on the show?

KC: Immensely. I learned a lot about myself. I did a lot of introspection and a lot of growing as a person while on the show.

JC: Cool. Do you think this show will help you further be an advocate for others like you?

KC: Well I have been doing community work for the past decade, as I said. I think this show will only further that or at least provide some validity to what I did previously. So far the reaction has been extremely positive and that has been awesome. I do want to continue being an advocate and an activist in the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, & Transgender) community.

JC: Great. Have you had any fans come up to you yet?

KC: Yeah, it’s all been positive. I haven’t had anyone come up to me yet and said “you suck!” That hasn’t happened yet, and I hope it never does actually.

JC: Yeah. Would you ever want to do like a Real World/Road Rules Challenge?

KC: Well they have to invite you out. If they want you out there, they will invite you. But if I get the invitation, yeah I will go.

JC: Cool. Anything else you want to tell everyone that you are doing now?

KC: Right now I am just taking a break from life and spending time with boyfriend, who I have been away from for too long. So I am just living my normal life at the moment.

Next up was Sarah Rice. Sarah is 22 and is from San Francisco, CA. Sarah is an artist who suffered a traumatic upbringing that included sexual abuse, and has dedicated herself as an educator and advocate for survivors of abuse, using art and creative therapy. She hopes to show her art in a gallery, and recently began a relationship with a man to whom her mother introduced her, one of her first heterosexual relationships, as most of her prior ones were with women. Sarah appearance is described to be that of a “tattooed punk”.

Here is what Sarah had to say about her Real World experience…

Josh Clinton: Hey Sarah.

Sarah Rice: Hi.

JC: How are you doing?

SR: I’m good. How are you?

JC: Doing good. Were you a fan of The Real World before you got on the show?

SR: I definitely watched it. I wouldn’t call myself a fan, because I wasn’t really interested in the last few seasons. But now I’m a huge fan!

JC: Yeah, I understand. What season do you last remember really being interested in?

SR: I really liked The Real World: New Orleans. That was the last one I was really interested in.

JC: Okay. Why did you try out for the show then?

SR: I tried out just to do something fun on a Sunday afternoon and I wanted to have a story I could tell my friends. Then, I ended up making through all the call backs, and then I thought this is something I could do. I never went in with any anticipation of making it.

JC: Yeah. You have been described as a “tattooed punk”. What do you think about that and have you dealt with this kind of stereotypes before?

SR: Yeah, of course. I have dealt with that every single day. It’s just how I look and there is no way around it. But people would be surprised to learn that you can’t judge a book by its cover. My tattooed appearance doesn’t define me by any means. I don’t even think I fit in the normal description of someone who people would think would have tattoos.

JC: Yeah, exactly. So before you the show, you had a boyfriend, right?

SR: Yes.

JC: I had read that this was one of your first heterosexual relationships. Is that true?

SR: It’s one of the first. I had another one when I was like 16.

JC: Okay. So had you always been attracted to women more than men?

SR: No, actual I have an equal amount of relationships with men that I had with women.

JC: Oh, okay. I understand. Did you have any concern about your relationship with him because of the distance away from him and all the temptation?

SR: No, if anything we would just miss each other. But we both knew that I would go on the show with him and leave the show, still with him. I wasn’t going to do anything, and I didn’t do anything that would hurt our relationship. Things are good.

JC: Good. Cool. So in the second episode, Katelynn told you that she was a transgender. What you were thinking at that point?

SR: It didn’t come as a complete shock to me, and it’s not really a big deal to me. That is not how I thought of her, and still when I think of her, I only see Katelynn as a girl. So I felt really good that she was able to come to me with that information. I felt really honored for that. That was the only thing besides I just wanted to know how much it cost!

JC: Yeah, exactly. So how much of the show have you seen so far? Like the first three episodes?

SR: Yes, the first three.

JC: Okay. So from what you have seen so far, do you think you have been portrayed accurately?

SR: Yeah, I think so. I think that’s exactly how I am. I think they did a great job and I like it.

JC: So so far so good.

SR: Well heck yeah!

JC: Cool. Do you think that Real World producers look for personalities that will conflict with each other in the house? Do they try and manufacture drama that way?

SR: No, I think that just get people who are different. The show wouldn’t be that great if they got people who looked exactly alike and was exactly alike. It wouldn’t be what it is. What’s the point? By getting people with different backgrounds. For example, take Chet, who’s from Salt Lake City and a member of the Mormon Church. Okay, he’s going to have really conservative ideas. Then you get someone from San Francisco that is covered in tattoos is probably going to be more liberal. No matter what you do, even if those people met on the streets, they are going to have conflicting views. We just happen to all be put under the same roof. I don’t think it’s the show itself that brings out the drama, it’s the mixture and melting pot of different people that we have.

JC: Yeah. Do you think any of your roommates played to the cameras at all? If the cameras weren’t around, do you think they would be doing what they did?

SR: Some of JD’s actions in the beginning were a little bit like that. But after 4 months of taping you learn to ignore the cameras. It would be too difficult to put on a show for 4 months. I mean personally, I would get tired of doing it. I can’t speak for everyone, but I know my actions were genuine. I know for the most part everyone else’s was. But then again, I don’t know how these people are in, I mean a few of them I have hung out with without the cameras there, but I don’t know how they are 24/7 in the day-to-day lives.

JC: Right. This is the first season since season four to not have a “house job”. You could all do what you wanted to do. How do you think that all turned out?

SR: I loved it. I thought it was great. I came in there thinking that if we did any job together, there would not be a job on the planet that they could up with for all of us to do, that would benefit my future career. You know, add to my resume I guess. But here we got he chance to do things we plan on doing in the future. It was just the perfect setting to pursue our careers in. You can really do anything in New York, and it allowed everyone to do that. I think it worked out great. I loved it. I think we are all very strong Type-A personalities, so we would have killed each other if we had to work together.

JC: Yeah. So you don’t think it hurt the bonding between you and your roommates then?

SR: No, we lived under the same roof with each other. We spent a lot of time together.

JC: So who are you friends with today then?

SR: I talk to every single person. JD, I talked to once. But everyone else I talk to weekly. Baja, I talk to every other day, Katelynn all the time, Devyn all the time, Chet and I talk a lot.

JC: Okay, cool. Did your opinions of any of the roommates change from the beginning of the show to the end of it?

SR: I wouldn’t say that. I went in there without a real opinion on everyone, because I knew they were all going to be pretty much like myself, which is usually the opposite of what your opinion is when you first see them. But I think I just learned more about these people. I didn’t go in there thinking this is Baja the dancer, Katelynn the transgender. I just went in there thinking that these are 7 fgggdifferent people, and I came out learning more about each person’s story.

JC: Right. You have been an advocate for abuse. Do you think this show will help you further that?

SR: Oh yeah, I think it will give a voice to a group that a lot of times doesn’t have one. I hope it will encourage people to share their own stories. So if it’s something they haven’t dealt with, then I hope this will encourage them to do this.

JC: Cool. What did you learn about yourself, while being on the show?

SR: I learned patience. I learned to let a lot of things go. To be less controlling. Before I even went into this, I was so bossy. I was the kid in elementary school that everyone hated, because I was the teacher’s pet. I told everyone what to do, and I think going in here you have to learn that there are 7 other people and there are probably 7 other ways to get the job done, and your way isn’t always right, Sarah.

JC: Yeah. Have you had any fans come up to you yet?

SR: Yeah, I’ve had a few. The one thing that just drives me crazy, is someone will just come up to me and they will say “hey, are you that girl from The Real World?” And I would be like “yeah, I am!” Then, they will turn around to their friend and say “I told you so!” and walk away. You can talk to me and say like “hey, how you doing” or whatever. But yes people have come up to me. I like it, though.

JC: Good. If you got the chance, would you do a Real World/Road Rules Challenge?

SR: I would do a challenge, heck yeah! I’m really competitive and I would love to get on there and kick some butt!

JC: Sounds good. So what are you doing now and what do you want to do in the future?

SR: I’m going to head back to school and finish my degree. Right now, I’m just seeing how things are going. I have been working a few odd jobs here and there. I would love to do some public speaking about sexual abuse and things like that. But that’s what I hope to do in the future.

The Real World: Brooklyn airs on MTV on Wednesday nights at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT time.

The 20th season of The Real World premieres tonight, Wednesday, April 23 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on MTV in Canada. The show already premiered in the United States at the same time and night last week. But to help give you a sneak preview of the new season, which is set back in Hollywood, I got the chance to interview a few members of the cast.

First up was Kimberly Alexander. Kimberly is 24 and from Columbia, South Carolina. With her Southern belle charm and naiveté, Kimberly is sometimes perceived as a ditzy blonde and maybe a little judgmental. Raised in a deeply religious household in a small town, she rebelled against her parents’ restrictive rules. However, she’s not quite sure how to harness her newfound freedom and energy. Kimberly loves to be around people and have a good time, but she doesn’t always think before she speaks, and her Real World roommates often find her comments offensive. In Hollywood, Kimberly’s goal is to become the host of an entertainment show.

Here is what Kimberly had to say about her Real World experience…

Josh Clinton: Hey Kimberly.

Kimberly Alexander: Hi, how are you?

JC: I’m doing good. How are you?

KA: I doing well, thank you.

JC: Good. Were you a fan of The Real World before you got on the show?

KA: I watched Sydney, just because I was trying out for the next one. But other than that I hadn’t really watched it for awhile. I watched some of Las Vegas and some of Hawaii, but I wasn’t like a huge fan.

JC: Why did you try out for this season then?

KA: Well I went with a friend for moral support. But then they kept calling back, and I decided to do this. I thought it was a good opportunity.

JC: I see. Did you ever try out or send in any tapes for any other season? What was the tryout process like for you?

KA: No. I just went this time and they just kept calling me back to do more interviews before they finally picked me for the cast.

JC: Cool. You went on to the show without a boyfriend, correct?

KA: Yes.

JC: But Sarah went on the show with a boyfriend. Do you think it’s smarter to go on the show single, since there is all of that temptation and distance?

KA: Personally, for myself, I think that. I wanted to have the full experience and I knew that if I went on the show with a boyfriend I would have been calling and texting, and I wouldn’t just want to go out and have fun. So from my own personal experience, I thought it was good being single. But from the beginning I didn’t think that Sarah and Ryan would have any issues or break up because of the show or anything like that.

JC: Oh, okay. Now I have seen the premiere episode and when you first met Will you made some comments about the city of Detroit, where he was from. What was that all about?

KA: Will is so charming and nice. I’ve dated a guy from Detroit and I wasn’t thinking about that at all. When I met Will and saw that he was so nice and charming and found out he was from Detroit, all I could think about was that 8 Mile movie. That was the only thing in my head. I just kept playing that movie over and over in my head, but then I was like “but Will is so nice and charming.” But you only saw part of that. That is where it came from, though.

JC: Gotcha. Have you seen the whole show or just the first couple of episodes?

KA: I’ve only seen the first episode.

JC: Okay. Well you may not be able to answer this, but from what you have seen so far, do you think you were portrayed accurately? Is the Kimberly we see on TV, the same Kimberly we would find in real life?

KA: Pretty much. I’m pretty spastic and I like to have fun. But I got a lot of mail about being a racist or being judgmental. But I’m not racist. I can see how I was portrayed as that, being a Southern girl and that’s a common stereotype. Which is fine, it’s what I signed up for.

JC: Yeah. So no one in the house seems to like Greg.

KA: That’s correct.

JC: He was voted by America to be in the house. It seemed to me like America voted him in just to stir up trouble, because he has such an “over-the-top” personality. What do you think about that?

KA: I don’t know. I didn’t get that much involved in any of the Internet stuff, so I didn’t see any of his home tapes that he did. But I have heard that he was on billboards and newspapers and getting his name out there. So I think that it wasn’t really America voting for him, it was more him getting the word out and getting the votes to enter the house.

JC: Yeah. Did your opinions of any of the roommates change at the end of your time together than when you first met them in the beginning?

KA: Yeah, definitely. Some changed for the worse and some changed for the better. At first, because of her background and stuff, I was completely opposed of Brianna. But towards the end I loved her to death, and I think that she grew the most and she taught me so much. So probably out of everyone, my opinion of her changed the most. Sometimes we met someone you think they are such a good person, but once you get to know you learn that they aren’t such good people. That happened mostly with the boys.

JC: Did you learn anything about yourself while you were on the show?.

KA: I learned a lot. I think this was definitely a life-changing experience. I learned a lot of things. Being from a sorta small town in Columbia, South Carolina, I learned to be more open-minded and less judgmental. I learned about other cultures and lifestyles. There is a lot of down time, so I definitely thought about who I truly was and what I truly wanted in life to be happy and confident with that.

JC: Cool. The show just premiered in the U.S. and will premiere soon in Canada, but have you had any fans coming up to you yet?

KA: Yes, it’s really weird when it happens. I start to blush. I get really embarrassed, because I don’t know what to say. It’s really weird. I’m just myself, so I don’t understand why people would freak out meeting me. It’s really strange. (Laughs).

JC: Yeah, I bet. Do you think you might want to do a Real World/Road Rules Challenge one day?

KA: Maybe, but I don’t really want to become a reality TV star or anything. I want to do other things. Typically when people are labeled as “reality TV stars” they don’t get chances to do many other things in the entertainment industry in Hollywood.

JC: Yeah. So what are you doing now and what do you want to do in the future?

KA: Right now I’m back home, saving money to move out to LA. But I’m doing some appearances and trying to get more people involved in being green. What I really want to do is be a host on like E! News or Entertainment Tonight. Something like that.

JC: Very cool. Well thanks so much for your time and good luck with everything.

Next, was Dave Malinosky. Dave is 22 and from Waynesboro, PA. But he currently lives in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Outgoing and fun, Dave loves to be the center of attention. He’ll do just about anything for a laugh — the more shocking the better, in fact. A naturally gifted athlete, Dave likes to participate in any and all sports, from football to track to cheerleading. Yes, cheerleading. Needless to say, he is very comfortable in his skin, especially in front of the camera. That’s why Dave hopes moving to Hollywood for The Real World will be a springboard for him to become an actor or TV host.

Here is what Dave had to say about his Real World experience…

Josh Clinton: Hey Dave.

Dave Malinosky: What’s going on Josh?

JC: Not a whole lot. How are you doing?

DM: I’m excellent. How about yourself?

JC: Doing good. Were you a fan of The Real World before you got on the show?

DM: Yes, I was. I wasn’t an every episode kind of viewing being busy with school and things like that. But I would usually tune in to see who the new cast was each time.

JC: Cool. When did you first start watching the show?

DM: I watched a lot of Paris, San Diego, and Austin. Then, once I found out that I was cast for the show I watched a lot of Sydney.

JC: Okay. Did you ever try out for the show before now?

DM: Nope, never tried out before and never sent in a tape. I thought you should only do it once, and I almost didn’t go this time. I had a friend and he told me there was an open casting call at the University of South Carolina. I was down in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, so I just went over and that was it. Four months later I’m on the show.

JC: Nice. So each season the producers tend to cast certain characters for the show. This season you seem to be the “frat boy” character. What do you think of that?

DM: I think that’s terrible. I hate frats. I played football and lacrosse in college. But I’m just a “go big or go home” kind of guy. I kinda do what I want when I want to do it. I live by my own rules. I work hard, party hard, play hard, and love hard. It’s all the way or no way for me. But honestly I didn’t think I was going to get cast. I didn’t think I was crazy enough, and there was nothing wrong with me. When you are a viewer, you think that they cast a certain person. I think they may cast a certain way, but you see people who send in these tapes who are crazy and say they will cause all of this drama. They don’t need that. The drama just happens on its own. But for me to be the guy, that’s pretty cool. I have no problem being that guy, because that’s the fun guy and the guy everyone likes. That’s usually the person I am.

JC: Yeah. You have only seen like the first episode, right?

DM: I’ve seen up to episode two actually.

JC: Oh, cool. From what you have seen so far, do you think you have been portrayed accurately on the show? Are you the same Dave in real life that we see on TV?

DM: Yeah, it’s pretty much myself. The only thing I will say is that when you live in The Real World house, your life is heightened a little bit. I wouldn’t say that off the show I don’t hook up with as many women, because it’s not as easy. I also don’t drink as much, because you don’t have club promoters pouring booze down your throat. Stuff like that. But when you do go out, everyone wants to hang out with The Real World kids, so everyone is buying you drinks and stuff. So yeah, I was presented close to how I really am. But when you live in that house, it’s unlike anything you have ever experienced before.

JC: I bet. It seems to me that Greg was voted into the house by America just to stir up trouble, since he has this “over-the-top” personality. What do you think?

DM: I don’t think it’s necessarily an over-the-top personality. I think it’s a mixture of immaturity and insecurity. He’s always trying to be perfect. Usually when you meet confident people, they are usually not like that. I’m not the cat’s meow, but I consider myself a good looking guy, but I don’t look at myself in the mirror every day. Greg is just a strange individual and he’s not very open. I mean when talking to one of the executive producers of the show at the end, Jim Johnson, Jim told me that Greg would never have made it on the show under the normal casting process, because he wasn’t open enough. People like to know who they are casting. They want to know if it’s fake or not. They want to know the people they cast on the show. They can cast people who say the are crazy and the coolest person alive, but then they get there and find out that they are really some big loser that just sits around all day. Sometimes I had really good moments with Greg, and then sometimes I had really bad moments with Greg. But after the whole experience, he’s not a bad guy. Greg is just someone that I wouldn’t have in my circle of friends. I just don’t relate to his personality.

JC: Yeah. Did you opinions of any of your roommates change from the time you first met them to the end when you left the house?

DM: Yeah, a little bit. Everyone was out here trying to do something and work on the whole game. And some people showed big excitement and passion at first, but then really didn’t do much later. Like Kim and Sarah. I think Sarah is very productive and I think they both have a lot of skills, but on the show they didn’t really seem to chase after anything or act serious. They just sat around and talked about wanting to go home. It’s really kind of sad, because there were thousands and thousands of people who tried out who would have had that passion and used past experiences to work to get something they wanted.

JC: Right. I have seen some of the preview for the entire season and there was some footage of you and Kimberly messing around. Should we expect a “showmance” between you two this season?

DM: What did she say? (Laughs).

JC: (Laughs). I didn’t get the chance to ask her that.

DM: Well the thing about Kimberly..I will say this. I don’t consider myself “God’s Gift To Women”, but when I moved into the house I was a little disappointed with the female selection. I wished we had the Sydney girls. The Sydney girls and the Hollywood guys would have been good. But Kimberly is from South Carolina, only a hour and half away from me. I mean she was cute and we eventually started to gravitate towards each other and things were good. I made it very clear that I wasn’t looking for a girlfriend and I wasn’t trying to date anyone. I told her I was going to bring home other girls, and she said she was fine with that, but you can probably imagine when I started bringing home other girls the drama that was to follow.

JC: Yeah, that should be fun. Did you learn anything about yourself while on the show?

DM: I learned that I can’t always be so emotionally closed. I can’t always let things roll off my back. Discussing things is really the best way to handle things. I learned a lot about other people as well. Like what other people are going through and things like that. Living with Joey, taught me to be a little more emotionally open. Not so closed off. I don’t come from a family that is all “huggy and kissy” and all of that, and he does. So being able to get some of that from the whole experience was kinda cool. That was something I definitely learned. To push out a little more emotion.

JC: Cool. So what are you doing now and what do you want to do in the future?

DM: Oh man, I have been busy. I’m in Los Angeles right now doing a bunch of press stuff. I have a meeting with an entertainment agency tomorrow. Right now, I’m just striking while the iron is hot. I think the problem with reality television is the market is flooded. So it’s tough to break that mold from a reality status, but I feel like The Real World: Hollywood is something different. Supposedly it is different. When people think of The Real World, they just thinking of drinking and fighting. But there are some people with some real big talent. It’s all what you want to put into it. I’m looking into hosting gigs. I’m hosting a comedy tour right now. I’m looking into theatrical acting, commercial acting. Just putting myself in Los Angeles, because that’s where the show is. What some of us are trying to accomplish is how do you take The Real World to the “real world”? Do you want to be the kid doing the “Bar Crawls”? Sure, it’s fast cash and it’s a lot of money to pass on, but do you want to try and revolutionize what has been going on the past 20 years and take that next step? It’s not easy, because you have to prove yourself. There are going to be a lot of surprises and a lot of opportunities. You just have to be hungry for it. You just have to big or go home. That’s what I’m trying to do right now.

JC: Very cool. Well thanks so much for your time and good luck with everything.

DM: No problem Josh. Thanks, and if you need anything, you call me up, alright?

JC: Yeah, sounds good. Bye.

Finally, in my short series of interviews with The Real World: Hollywood cast members, was Will Gilbert. Will is 23 and from Detroit, Michigan. Cute, charismatic and witty, Will is the true ladies’ man of The Real World house. In his hometown of Detroit, he worked as a DJ, performing at weddings, parties and bar mitzvahs. In Hollywood, Will plans to continue creating cool beats and showing off his moves — both on and off the dance floor. Determined to be a super-successful music producer, Will is eager to hustle and hit the streets to sell the songs he has created. Is his determination about to pay off?

Here is what Will had to say about his Real World experience…

Josh Clinton: Hey Will.

Will Gilbert: How’s it going?

JC: I’m doing good. How are you?

WG: I’m great, thank you.

JC: Good. Were you a fan of The Real World before you got on the show?

WG: I wouldn’t say I was a fan. I was someone that knew about the show and if I caught the first episode I would turn it on and watch it. But wasn’t a fan like going to all the message boards and stuff like that.

JC: Yeah. What was the first season you watched?

WG: The first season I probably watched was The Real World: Hawaii.

JC: Cool. How did the tryout process for for you?

WG: Actually for me, it’s a different story. I went out one night to this hotel in Detroit where they were having auditions for another show. The girl that was doing the auditions actually worked for The Real World. So what she did was take that audition tape and told the producer of The Real World to check me out. So I didn’t have to stand in line or anything. You always see thousands of people waiting in line around the building like American Idol, but I didn’t have to do that. Lucky me I guess.

JC: Yeah. So when you first got in the house you and Brianna seemed to hit it off. But then you found out that she was a stripper. Why did you have such a negative reaction to what she did?

WG: I wouldn’t call it a negative reaction. I’m the kind of person when you first met somebody, I always give them the benefit of the doubt as far as their personality and their overall character demeanor. I felt I was misled a little bit. When me and Brianna were sitting in the car and she said she was a dancer, I asked what kind of dancer? And she said “hip-hop”. So I thought she was a hip-hop choreographer and she was working with Shane Sparks and Wade Robinson. But then I found she “worked the pole” and that was when I was like “Really? I’ll go ahead and go over here. Thanks very much.”

JC: Yeah, I understand. We also saw during the premiere that you and Sarah had a little “moment”.

WG: Oh man…

JC: What was going on there?

WG: Well at that time during the first episode, I was just trying to feel her out and she if she was attracted to me. At the same time, I’m going to respect the relationship she was in but at the same time put it in her ear that “once your single, it’s a different story.”

JC: Gotcha. I guess you also saw during the premiere the part where Sarah’s boyfriend, Ryan, turned to the camera and said “if any guy in the house tries anything with Sarah, he’s coming after you” or whatever…

WG: A little side note to that. While they were playing that part, in the background was one of my songs. So that’s kinda ironic.

JC: Yeah, I didn’t know that. So you’re not worried about that at all?

WG: No, Ryan is a good guy. I’ve met him several times. I pretty sure he knew it happened, but he came out to the house several times and he’s cool.

JC: Oh, cool. So you have seen the first episode, correct?

WG: Yes.

JC: From what you have seen so far, have you been portrayed accurately? Are you the same Will in real life?

WG: From the first episode, I am pretty much the same person. I’m a goofball. I have respect for anybody and everybody. But at the same time, I’ve very focused and determined on working on my music. I feel like I’m the hardest working person in the house when it came to taking advantage of living in Hollywood. So from the first episode, that’s me. That’s how I am.

JC: Cool. It seemed to me that America voted for Greg to be in the house just so he could stir up trouble, since he has such an “over-the-top” personality. What do you think?

WG: If you actually think that American voted for him, which I think it was rigged, but yeah. America voted for him because they knew how the show works. They know what gets MTV the ratings. The people that voted for him wanted to see him be cocky and all of that. People are smart. They are voting for their own show. They voted for what they want to see and they want to see drama.

JC: Right. So you think the voting was rigged?

WG: I wouldn’t say that. There was this other guy who was beating Greg by 200,000 votes and for some reason he didn’t make the “Top Ten”. Although, there were some things that he did say on his tape that might have broken some of the rules, but he definitely had WAY more votes than Greg. This guy was a lot more popular than Greg.

JC: I understand. Did your opinions of any of your roommates change from the first time you met them to the end when you left the house?

WG: Absolutely, they all changed. Just living with someone for three and a half months, you really get to know these people. You kinda get this impression that we are all “20-somethings” that just want to hang out and drink. We all think we have so much in common, but when you sleep, work, dine, break bread, and hook up with them 24/7, you learn so much about them. Your first thoughts of them get completely thrown out the door. It’s so different.

JC: Yeah. So did your opinions of any of your roommates change towards the negative then?

WG: Not really. I’m the kind of person that gives everyone a chance. There were times when some of the roommates got under my skin. At times, we disliked each other. That’s the best way to put it. But overall I could never have asked for six better roommates.

JC: Cool. Did you learn anything about yourself from being in the house?

WG: I’m a great leader. That’s all I’m going to say about that. You’ll see it in the house. But I went out and made a lot of contacts in the industry that I could use to help out my music career and help others in the house. So I developed strong leadership skills in the house.

JC: Cool. I know the show is just starting to air, but have any fans come up to you yet?

WG: Not me per se. I have had some interaction on IAmOnMTV.com. I have been mainly back in Detroit working on my music career, though. I’ve been working hard on a Easy Listeing/Hip Hop album. I’ve been in the lab creating different mixes and sounds and stuff. But I have gone out once or twice, and mainly ladies 30 years old and up have come up to me and are like “OH MY GOD! It’s Will!” But other than there hasn’t been that much fan interaction for me yet.

JC: Yeah. So do you plan to move back to Los Angeles any time soon to continue your music career?

WG: I’m still trying to decide whether to move back to Los Angeles or New York City right now. I’m still waiting to see what happens with some of the people I met while I was on the show. I could be working with some of them, but I’m still working that out. Wherever my music career takes me.

JC: Very cool. Well thanks for your time and good luck with everything.

WG: Thanks.

Two shows return this week with more on the way in the coming weeks. So it’s time once again to catch with that boy named Ryan and our best friends, Rob & Big. Also, we say goodbye to another season of MTV’s flagship show. Yes, it is time to leave “The Land Down Under”. Lets start mixing…

TUESDAY

Life of Ryan

That skateboarding prodigy, Ryan Sheckler, is back to bring his family drama to us. Apparently, his dad is not happy with his mom and sues her. That prevents Ryan from moving out sooner than he would have liked, since his mom wants him to stay until all of this gets settled.

Meanwhile, Ryan has some skating to do in Orlando. His fans, friends, and family are all there. Cue screaming teenage girls! Ryan has become so popular that even his family gets autograph requests. That’s a little insane. Ryan finishes in second place on this leg of the Dew Tour, but don’t fret as Ryan got enough points to win the Dew Tour for the second straight year!

Ryan eventually decides to with the change of plans and hold off buying a house for now. He wants to make sure that his brothers will be okay when he does move out. So there you go. It’s hard being a 17-year-old professional skateboarder and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise!

Rob & Big

Back for a third season. **Start pimping here** My review of the first two seasons on DVD is up now, so go read it, then come back to finish reading this column, then run out to stores and buy that DVD! I’ll wait…**End pimping here** On with the new season!

What a way to open this season. Rob & Big are inside of a carwash and they break out in song to an Enrique Iglesias song. Full dance and song mode. No one will ever know, except for everyone that watches this show of course.

There is crap floating in the pool. Apparently it is from a human. Nasty! Rob cleans it out of the pool using gloves. Rob & Big think Drama did it, because he is nowhere to be found. He was out running errands and swears it is not his.

Rob & Big go to a pool supply store to get supplies to drain the pool. For some reason there is a guy that works there that doesn’t wear a shirt. He is a white guy around the age of 50 and he has a superman tattoo on his shoulder. Big Black says that “his body looked like a 70 watt lightbulb!”

They eventually get a polygraph guy to come over to the house and give Drama a lie detector test. He passes it. Their next plan is to install security cameras in the backyard. Better yet, though, Rob gets some sort of net gun that shots a net at various “dumpers”. They never figure who crapped in the pool. But thanks to the “mystery dumper”, though, they do get an artist to paint a mural of their family on the bottom of the pool. Looks to be another funny season of this show!

WEDNESDAY

The Real World: Sydney

This is it gang! Here is the one-hour season finale of another LONG season of The Real World. Lets start it off right with the big secret being revealed. Dunbar tells Isaac that he and Ashley had oral sex. Now their relationship is strained. Meanwhile, Kelly Anne is not ready to leave Sydney and, more importantly, leave Cohutta.

WOW! Later Kelly Anne and Ashli do some REAL dirty dancing on some random guys. That pisses Cohutta off, especially when it looks like Kelly Anne flipped him off. Cohutta is not going to put up with her crap anymore. Kelly Anne immediately knows she made a mistake, but Cohutta wants her to act like she likes him. Cohutta has another great conversation with his grandpa about Kelly Anne. Those are ALWAYS great! Cohutta fears that Kelly Anne’s personality may be “too strong for him”. Kelly Anne apologizes to Cohutta and is ashamed that she did what she did. Kelly Anne says that she probably is distancing herself from Cohutta to brace for the inevitable departure.

Back to Dunbar and his girlfriend, Julie. Dunbar keeps dropping hints to Julie that he did something in Sydney that he shouldn’t have. Isaac tells Dunbar that he has to tell Julie right after he gets home. That’s the only way to do it. Dunbar knows he is screwed. Dunbar then tells the rest of the roommates about him and Ashli. Ashli is mad that Dunbar is going around and telling everyone now about them when she was trying to cover it up. Ashli wants to talk and that means Dunbar bangs his fist on a bench and calls Ashli names and wishes she would die, etc. That sends Ashli crying. You see, Parisa is right. Ashli having sex with Dunbar had more feeling to her than him. Now he knows he screwed up and is taking it out on Ashli. Simple as that. Ashli is really disappointed in herself since now she can’t even be friends with Dunbar and she thought she had better judgement than that.

Kelly Anne really likes Cohutta. Cohutta thought Kelly Anne was just a party girl, but he found out that they want the same things out of life. Parisa has really come around. Probably because Trisha and Shauvon are no longer in the house, but Parisa says that she will miss her roommates and didn’t think she would say that in the beginning.

Oh god, here comes the overdramatic moment. Ashli announces that she is going to have this big talk with Dunbar. Honest talk! She then goes to talk but not before we take a commercial break. Back to the talk. Dunbar says that his life is going to suck in the next few days. Ashli wonders if Dunbar thinks about how she might feel. He doesn’t. Ashli thought they she was just a “piece of ass” to him. Dunbar says that was never true and will never be true. So what does that mean exactly? I suppose now they can be friends. But Dunbar wants to prove that he can sleep in the same bed with Ashli and not do anything. Ashli won’t do it, though. She has self-control and that’s a good thing.

By the way, I hate that all MTV shows have 4 commercial breaks now instead of 3 for a 30-minute show. That’s too many and makes some shows REALLY drag on and on and on. More loving and hugging from Cohutta and Kelly Anne. They will love each other forever. Now Parisa hands out presents to the roommates. She gives Isaac a rock that is cut in half for him and Noirin. She gives Cohutta a wind chime. She gives Kelly Anne a Gemini stone. She gives Ashli a “evil eye”. Finally, she gives Dunbar a necklace with a hole in it. The bad luck goes through the hole and nothing but good luck remains. The point is Parisa tries to understand everyone and they eventually understand her.

Time to leave now! Ashli is the first to go! Tear! Next is Isaac and Dunbar. Cohutta and Kelly Anne leave and Parisa is all out of air and all alone. Tearful goodbye for Kelly Anne and Cohutta. And finally Parisa is the last to leave the house. Various words of wisdom from the roommates sprinkled throughout and we are out for another season. The next one is back in Los Angeles and it’s lucky Season #20!! Look for that later this year.

THURSDAY

Run’s House

Russell wants Run to invest in his new project called “GlobalGrind.com”, which is basically a hip-hop search engine. Run debates about investing, but eventually decides to. He likes driving his Lambo.

Meanwhile, JoJo, Angela, and Diggy pick on Russy. Run was the youngest child in his family and was picked on by his older brothers and sisters. Russy is now following in his footsteps, so he feels for him. Eventually everything works out for Russy, because he simply says that “He sucks” so they don’t get the chance to.

Rev Run sits in his tub and writes. Good morning. Do you ever ask yourself, “why is everybody always picking on me?” Being the youngest sibling isn’t always easy. But teasing can only hurt as much as you let it. Because when you frown, you bring the world down. But when you smile, the whole world smiles with you. God is love, Rev Run.

Angela wants to leave for Los Angeles as soon as she can. She wants to leave as soon as Vanessa is done with her Guiding Light run. Run doesn’t want her to leave so quick. Later, the Run family get the news that they get to adopt a baby girl. Run eventually gives in and gets the girls plane tickets to Los Angeles.

Meanwhile, JoJo wants a “hit record” with a “big-name producer”. He is disappointed that the producers that Latch Key Productions wants him to work with are “unknowns”. Russell tries to tell JoJo that the reward comes from the work and not the hit record. The payoff comes from working hard and enjoying the music you make.

Zach and Reggie, JoJo’s other rap group members, attempt to talk to Run about getting a big producer for them. No luck. Run tells them to have fun and not worry about becoming “big”. Run has second thoughts and does end up making a call to a “big producer” named Rockwilder. He is best known for producing “Lady Marmalade” covered by Lil’ Kim, Mya, Pink, and Christina Aguilera for the movie Moulin Rouge. Rockwilder is going to help Team Blackout.

Rev Run sits in his tub and writes. Good morning. What is the meaning of success? Depends on what you’re striving for. Don’t expect achievements alone will make you complete. Happiness comes from appreciating what you have, not what you’re searching for. Remember make your life a hit, don’t wait for the hit to make your life. God is love, Rev Run.

Sir Linksalot: Reality Television

So we are down to two nights this week, but that won’t last for very long. This week we get the finale of the mini-season of Newport Harbor. We also have the second-to-last episode of The Real World: Sydney, and the return of Run’s House with TWO episodes. That should be enough to hold you over until next week when we get the return of two surprise hits shows. For now, lets start mixing…

WEDNESDAY

The Real World: Sydney

It’s almost time to say goodbye to another season of The Real World. This episode is mainly about Isaac joking around that he has two kids. Or is it really a joke? Meanwhile, Issac and Noirin’s relationship gets questioned, and Alex returns to try to get back into Parisa’s pants.

Now it’s time to play truth or dare in the hot tub with everyone partially naked. Alex and Parisa make out. Ashli, Dunbar, and Noirin do the same. But it’s really more about Parisa and Alex. Parisa said it was fun to have a crush here in Australia, but she is not looking to find a serious boyfriend.

Isaac comes clean to Noirin. He doesn’t have any kids and Noirin is relieved. They can now travel in America after this season is over. They pop some bubbly and that’s it. Next week is the one-hour season finale!!

Newport Harbor: The Real Orange County

This is the finale of this mini-season of Newport Harbor. Chrissy can’t make up her mind up. She realizes that she really misses Clay and wants him back. She wonders if it’s too late, though?

Chrissy informs Billy that she can’t come visit him in San Jose, because she has to “take care of some stuff.” So basically Chrissy tells him it’s over without saying it. It is time for the inevitable talk between Clay and Chrissy to occur at the party.

What part? Glad you asked. Allie’s parents build a new house. Apparently so Allie and Samantha can throw a party in it. They are doing a “1920s Theme” for the party. This party becomes really contrived in a hurry. Finally, Chrissy talks to Clay. Some weird “voice-over” stuff to really blur the lines of “scripted” and “unscripted”. The big talk has little talking, but Clay is not sure about giving Chrissy another chance. She is bummed!

It’s Christmas time! Being as such, Grant says that Clay should give Chrissy another shot. It’s the “Christmas spirit!” That was a little unexpected. By the way, Allie finally gets a job! Woot!

One more talk between come couples. Chase and Kylie chat about him moving up to Santa Barbara. She informs him that she doesn’t want to be serious with him. Kylie basically tells him that she doesn’t want to be his girlfriend. Chase looks upset.

And then finally finally, Clay and Chrissy chat once more on his boat filled with Christmas decorations. They really need to work on the editing for this show. It’s like they forget to follow the script and then they decide to record over the scene with various comments from the kids. It’s really weird. To sum this up, though, Chrissy is transferring to USC next semester to be closer to Newport Harbor. They make out and have a good time! She decide to stay with Clay! Tears fall like rain! And we are done for now! Thank you! Hopefully they can work on the editing before they decide to bring this show back.

THURSDAY

Run’s House

It’s new school vs. old school in the first episode of a double-header this week. Diggy and Russy represent the “new school” as they like to play the Wii. Run says “old school” is better and teaches them all about arcade action. He orders his own arcade video game for the house. It’s a game called “Centipede”! Run and Justine battle over playing video games before Diggy and Russy finish their homework. Justine bans Run from playing games before they finish, since that causes them to want to play. Run decides to help them finish their homework first, so they can all play.

Meanwhile, JoJo is going to school. It’s an “Audio College”. It’s basically a 9 month program where we learns music? Yeah, sounds fake to me as well. Uncle Russell wants JoJo to learn something more valuable that music. He makes JoJo an intern at Phat Farm. Basically, he’s a gopher Kevin Leong, the VP of Design for Phat Farm. JoJo doesn’t want to pick up Kevin’s dog’s crap. Russell tells Kevin to ride JoJo hard, so JoJo loses the “silver spoon”. JoJo complains to Russell about Kevin, but Russell gives him no sympathy.

Justine wants to go on a diet, but it’s hard to stick to it when Run is breathing down her neck about everything she eats. Justine decides to create her own diet plan with Angela’s suggestions. She gets her own trainer and takes some hip-hop dance classes. Justine still can’t resist eating Twinkies, though.

Rev Run sits in his tub and writes. Good morning. Is the corporate world a cruel one? It can be. Much like a family, a business has a pecking order. Just because you start at the bottom doesn’t mean you can’t get to the top. Pay your dues and you’ll get paid. God is love, Rev Run.

The kids go crazy during the second episode. JoJo and Angela horse around the pool. They then do the “Apache” dance for no apparent reason. As in “Tonto, jump on it, jump on it”! Check out the sixth season of the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air if you don’t know what I’m talking about. But it’s a Sugarhill Gang song that has a dance to it made famous by Will and Carlton on that show.

Everyone has different plans for the weekend. Russy and Diggy go visit Uncle Danny, Run’s brother. They get scared of Danny’s weird art and sculptures. Danny does treat them and gives them White Castle for breakfast and giving them a special artifact from his collection that they can take home and keep. Meanwhile, JoJo, Team Blackout, and Angela annoy Vanessa as she is trying to study her script.

Run and Justine go to Tampa, Florida. The Home Shopping Network wants Justine to be a host for a segment to sell the line of Simmons Jewelry, “Brown Sugar”. In the end, he does a great job. She has “skills to pay the bills” according to Run.

Rev Run sits in his tub and writes. Good morning. What enriches you? It’s the relationships you have and the experiences you keep that fulfill your inner self. Spending time with extended family extends your knowledge and knowledge is power. Reconsider what makes a person rich and enjoy your good fortune. God is love, Rev Run.

Sir Linksalot: Reality Television

Not much happening on MTV the last two weeks thanks to the holidays, but we do have some stuff to cover including some loose ends to tie up for one show. Find out who Tila chose, if you don’t know or can’t guess. You also won’t want to miss the “drama” that occurred the past two weeks on The Real World and Newport Harbor. Plus, I’m writing “The Mix” for the firs time on my new MacBook, so that should be enough reason to read this right now…

TUESDAY

A Shot of Love with Tila Tequila

Last week, Tila finally makde her choice. Who does she “love”? Is it Bobby or Dani? They are pretty much both guys, so I’m calling a foul on this show. Sure, the equipment may be different, but they both act the same. Oh well, I got $100 on Bobby.

By the way, did you know that Tila made a cameo appearance during the first season of Rob & Big. Yep, I got an advance review copy of the soon to be released Rob & Big: Complete Seasons 1 & 2 DVD, and there she was. Of course, Rob & Big had to point it out to me in their commentary track, but she is in there. So look for that.

Lets just cut to the chase now. Fast-forward to the end of this episode, since nothing really earth shattering occurs before then. In the end, Tila picks Bobby!! Booyah! I told you so. But really this relationship will probably turn out like any other Bachelor couple. They will soon be broken up or last for a little bit until it ends messy! Tila does run after Dani with “How To Save A Life” music to make it more dramatic than it was, but that’s only to say goodbye properly. Anyways good luck to the happy couple. I’m sure it will be a great two months for you too. See you next year Tila for another shot at love! HA!

WEDNESDAY

The Real World: Sydney

Last week, Dunbar was still irritated with Ashli. Cohutta says that Dunbar lets the girls get under his skin too easily. He just needs to let things go like complaining about the dirty coffee maker. Eventually Ashli and Dunbar chat. Ashli says Dunbar bitches about everything. Dunbar says Ashli is a bitch. In fact, he calls all the girls bitches.

Time to get back to work, though. The deadline is fast approaching for their own travel itenaries. Ashli, Parisa, and Issac work much better as a team than Dunbar, Cohutta, and Kelly Anne. Cohutta just wants to sleep. Then, Kelly Anne thinks that the guys don’t listen to her.

The guys then get out of the house and just drives around. Apparently Cohutta jumps off a cliff. He thought it was a 4 foot drop to the next drop, but it was actually 8 feet down and it looks like he sprained his ankle. Another mark against “Team Dundee”.

Back to more yelling between Ashli and Dunbar. They fight about nothing or at least that is how it is edited. They bumped into each other. Issac says this is basically “who can yell the loudest in this silly ass argument!” Kelly Anne knows the fight is nothing about bumping into each other. It’s basically about unrequited love or basically Ashli won’t have sex with Dunbar. It’s a “love/hate” relationship which means they love each other when they are drunk, but hate each other when they are sober. The honeymoon is over as Ashli says she is “done”! HA! Watch and see what happens next!

This week, Cohutta is still hurt and Kelly Anne is not helping her team either. She gets drunk and gets in trouble with their boss. No drinking while working. Dunbar is left all alone to lead his team to victory and he is not happy about it. Meanwhile, Issac, Parisa, and Ashli bond and create fun little rap sing-songs for the kids to sing on the bus rides to various landmarks in Australia.

Later, Issac and Ashli tell the group of kids that is being led by Kelly Anne, Dunbar, and Cohutta to not vote for them. They are sabotaging them. Of course, they really don’t need to do that. They are fighting enough on their own. Dunbar then explodes some more when some kids joke around, at Kelly Anne’s urging, and write something about Dunbar’s private area. Dunbar and Kelly Anne fight, Cohutta breaks them up, and Kelly Anne is mad at him for it. HA! Kelly Anne is really mad that Cohutta didn’t stick up for herself when Dunbar was yelling at her. Of course, they do make up though.

Time for the presentations and see which team won. Should not be a big surprise. But both teams present a good case. The winning team is Issac, Parisa, and Ashli. They get to go to Europe for two weeks. Issac celebrates in his own way. Dunbar and Kelly Anne then discuss their problems and all is good with them. Only two weeks left of this season it seems…

Newport Harbor: The Real Orange County

Last week, Chrissy came home and had a makeout session with her new boy “friend”, Billy, from school in Santa Barbara. Clay was not at the party but his best friend, Grant, was. Grant calls Clay up and tells him what happens. So the next logical thing is a road trip to Santa Barbara for Clay and Grant.

Chrissy can’t decide whether should wants Clay or Billy. Kylie doesn’t really want to have a serious relationship right now with Chase. Chase has other plans apparently. He tells Samantha, Allie’s friend, that he is moving up to Santa Barbara. Chase says they are “together” but without the title. So Chase likes Kylie more than she likes him. That’s interesting.

A great moment occurs when Chrissy dials Clay’s number. On the first ring, though, Billy walks up and Chrissy hangs up her phone to talk to him. He invites her to a party later. Kylie is coming too. That’s after she tells Chase that she would be “studying” tonight. For the record, Newport Beach and Santa Barbara are two hours apart.

Clay and Grant show up at Chrissy’s dorm room, but she is not there. She already went to the party. Kylie is there, though, and she takes them to the party. Look out! Chrissy and Billy party it up. Chrissy says that Billy and Clay “remind me of each other”. They both look alike as well. Clay walks into the party to see Chrissy and Billy making out. That’s always good. Chrissy looks up and sees Clay, but Clay and Grant jet before they can talk. Clay tells Grant that he is “over” Chrissy.

Grant informs Clay to forget about Chrissy, but he is a nice guy. When Chrissy calls him he can’t just “erase her number” like Grant wants him too. I love Grant’s facial expressions and reactions to Clay telling him that he and Chrissy are “going to talk”. He’s out of here.

Allie and Samantha think Kylie is the “girl version of Chase”. Chase still plans to move up to Santa Barbara. Kylie casually mentions to Chase that “I’m sure things will be different next semester”. She meant for everyone. Hint, hint, there Chase. Clay and Chrissy finally talk. She says she was surprised to see him. He says “whatever”. Seriously that is his response to most everything. Chrissy tells Clay that she and Billy are not a couple. She is not ready to move on to another relationship right now. Chrissy thinks they should both “make the best out of their situations”. So they should hang out with whoever they want to right now. Their long-distance relationship is donzo! It’s all about timing my friends!

This week, more of the same. It’s Thanksgiving time! Chrissy is worried about seeing Clay during the break. Apparently, they are “over” but right not it’s only spelled “O-V-E-”. The ‘R’ is not there just yet. She still has feelings for Clay. Clay is too busy hanging with Grant and Taylor and Taylor’s friend. Dude!

It seems Billy likes Chrissy more than she likes him possibly. He wants her to come up to San Jose, which is his hometown I believe. Meanwhile, Chase is meeting Kylie’s parents for Thanksgiving dinner. Kylie throws out the “random” for us. Chase is definitely into Kylie more than she is. But she agreed to this, so there you go. Awkward family moments. Mom wants to know if this is “casual” or “serious”. Dad’s a big talker. He wants to know what Chase wants to do with his life. Fun stuff.

Big Thanksgiving party is, of course, on! The entire gang is here. Clay wants to be introduced to all the girls there. Here comes Chrissy. Clay proceeds to make her jealous by being all over every girl there. Chrissy leaves before she gets to talk to Clay. I love Chrissy’s dad. Best line of the night after Chrissy says the party was “fine”. Dad says “Just fine? You got to see all of your old high school friends for the first time in a week and it was just fine?” Yeah, like a week is a long time, Dad. Chrissy tells her dad that she misses Clay. Dad says that “sometimes high-school sweethearts end up together years later”. True dat! BUT they are really jacking up the melodrama here. Only one more episode left of this mini-season, though, so that’s a good thing.

THURSDAY

Run’s House

Run’s House was gone for the holidays last week and they are still on vacation this week. There has already been 10 episodes of this season that has aired, but I am told that season four will continue next week. So if that happens, you know I will be all over that.

Sir Linksalot: Reality Television

This week we get the start of a brief return season for a relatively new MTV show, Newport Harbor. In addition, we say goodbye (for a few months) to The Hills as one season ends. At least part of this season ends. Apparently this show will be back sooner than later and will be set in a different location for part of the time. What is that all about? Well you will just have to continue reading to find out. All of that and more this week as we mix things up…

MONDAY

The Hills

Lauren gave up the trip to Paris for the summer to be with Jason. Dumb move as now Lisa will never let her forget it. Whitney gets to go to Paris for a second time. Lisa wants her to help out over there. Whitney asks about Lauren going and Lisa says “Lauren had her chance to go to Paris!” That was cold. When Whitney tells Lauren about it Lauren is pissed, but says she is not. She is just mad at herself more than anything.

Meanwhile, Spencer and Heidi have issues. They haven’t talked since their last fight when Spencer walked out again. He goes to her work to try and apologize, but she is not there. Heidi’s co-worker tells Spencer to call her. HA! But she really is at work.

Lauren, and her raspy voice, help Whitney make a list of things to pack. Coats, gloves, apparently it’s cold there. Lauren doesn’t know since she has never been there, but that is what she says so you better believe it. Lisa then calls Lauren into her office and tells her that she has a second chance. She is going to Paris with Whitney. Yay!

Time to figure out her relationship with Brody. Brody wonders if Lauren will miss him. Lauren is too excited to care what Brody thinks. Talk of French guys leads to Brody asking Lauren “so you really want a boyfriend, is that it?” That came out of nowhere. Brody says he has had bad relationships, and is scared to get in another one. So has Lauren, but she is willing to give it another shot. Lauren says that “if you really want to be with someone you should be with them and be proud to call them their boyfriend or girlfriend.”

Time for some cliffhangers. Heidi decides to move home to Colorado for a little bit. That will give them both time to think about what they want. Spencer says he knows what he wants, but Heidi doesn’t. Heidi just “needs some space”. Spencer may have a heart after all, but it might be too late. Lauren packs her bag, which apparently is nothing but shoes! Brody hugs and kisses Lauren goodbye. And that is all for this season! See you soon for The Hills: Paris!

It’s time for the finale! Okay, I was wrong. This is just one last “recap episode” before the finale next week. So find out who Tila will pick next week. My money is still on Bobby, by the way.

WEDNESDAY

The Real World: Sydney

Looks like trouble. Dunbar fights the urge to have sex with Ashli. Ashli thinks he should man up and get over Julie. Meanwhile, Cohutta and Kelly Anne can’t resist each other. Kelly Anne’s screams shake the whole house and then apparently the condom broke while they were having sex.

Kelly Anne might be pregnant, but what are the odds of that happening? Cohutta tells Kelly Anne that if she is pregnant, she is coming to Georgia. Apparently he is the “most fertile man in the world”. Cohutta talks to his grandfather about this and his grandfather has a great accent as well.

Ashli doesn’t want Dunbar to keep lying to his girlfriend about “them”. Either tell her or she is not putting up with him anymore. We will see how long that will last. It just gets worse from here as they fight over using the computer literally. Dunbar calls Ashli a “dumb, immature bitch”. That’s always good.

But back to Cohutta and Kelly Anne real quick. They get dressed up as cowboys and go dancing. They even kiss for the first time in public. Aw, how sweet. They then go to church for some praying on not being pregnant. Kelly Anne then starts her period and jumps for joy. She is not pregnant!

As any good Real World episode would end, there has to be a happy ending. Eventually Dunbar and Ashli talk out their differences. All seems well with them now, but what else would you expect? That will probably change next week, though.

Newport Harbor: The Real Orange County

So call this a mini-season of Newport Harbor. Apparently they shot this “over the holidays”. We catch up on all your favorite kids from Newport Harbor, you know “The Real Orange County”. Chrissy is off at school in Santa Barbara, California. She is in a sorority and loving every minute of it. But what about Clay and everyone else? Well that’s why we are here. Lets find out!

Clay and Chrissy are apparently in a long-distance relationship, except not really. Chrissy has a crush on a boy named Billy. Who knows what Clay is doing? They eventually talk and discuss their relationship. But yeah, everyone (including myself) is still confused about that.

Meanwhile, Chase broke up with Taylor. He is now going out with Chrissy’s sorority sister, Kylie. Chrissy has a party at her house and everyone meets for the first time. Oh look, here comes Billy from Santa Barbara. That was awkward. He wanted to meet Clay for some reason. He is out of town, though. Chrissy and Billy eventually make out in the backyard. Grant, the good friend to Clay that he is, calls up Clay and informs him of this. Hehehehe.

Taylor tells her friend that Chase was all texting her and stuff this morning. He wants to be a “playa”, but Taylor is not having that. Chrissy and her dad have a conversation about Billy and Clay. Basically, he says be honest to everyone and just have fun. That is dad’s motto. That ends the first episode of this mini-season and the show hasn’t changed. Although, everything seems to be a little more “fake” than usual.

THURSDAY

Run’s House

Angela wants to move back to Los Angeles, but she has to wait until Vanessa is done with her Guiding Light recurring role. Angela decides to take things into her own hands and attempt to persuade one of the writers of the show to “kill off” Vanessa’s character. Eventually it works, but not because of her influence. Vanessa’s run on Guiding Light eventually runs its course and they both appear to be heading back to Los Angeles soon.

Diggy and Russy are enjoying the last week of summer before school starts. Both Run and Justine tell them to enjoy it. Diggy likes to skateboard, while Russy likes to video tape everything. Apparently Diggy wants a HUGE tattoo across his back like Ryan from Life of Ryan. Shout out! Run says no. Justine eventually attempts to skateboard, but she takes a nasty fall as Russy video tapes it and later shows it to Run. The result is Justine giving Diggy a pink helmet to wear while he skateboards on accident. She thought it was red.

Meanwhile, JoJo wants Run to set up a meeting with record label for him and his friends and their rap group called “Team Blackout”. JoJo really wants to make it in the music business on his own without using the last name ‘Simmons’. However, JoJo still needs Run to set up the meeting by using his connections. They eventually get to meet with a young label called “Latchkey Productions”. JoJo and his friends were all excited for some “advance money”, but the owners of the label quickly shoot that downa agree to work with them but all the money goes into promoting and marketing them first. Basically, they agree to be partners with “Team Blackout” and see what happens.

Rev Run sits in his tub and writes. Good morning. Do you make the most of your time? It’s a shame if you don’t. Appreciate each day and take advantage of life’s opportunities. Time can fly when you’re having fun but can grind to a halt if you’re not. Time waits for nobody, so get with the times. God is love, Rev Run.

Sir Linksalot: Reality Television

We have finally cut all of the crap and just have nothing but the best left. Of course, that will all change in the new year so you better enjoy this “Mix” for the next couple of weeks. After that, it will be gone forever! So lets get to it…

MONDAY

The Hills

Lauren doesn’t know if she can ever be in a relationship with Brody, since Brody not only likes her, but also likes every other girl in Los Angeles as well. Brody jokes about the “hotties” around them, while they are on a date, but Lauren doesn’t think he is joking. Brody sounds eerily similar to Spencer here. Whitney and Lauren both agree that Brody “loves the ladies” but Lauren doesn’t need to be just one of “his ladies”. Agreed.

Heidi and Stephanie, Spencer’s sister, talk about the wedding. Heidi tells her that she thinks it will be best to wait especially since they can’t agree on anything about the wedding. Heidi tells Stephanie to not say anything to Spencer, but she does anyways. That leads to a big fight between Heidi and Spencer. Spencer thinks Heidi is dragging out the wedding to apparently not have one. Spencer just wants to “get it over with already”. Spencer then walks out and Heidi tells him if he did that, he doesn’t have to bother coming back. So perhaps this could be the end? HA!

Meanwhile, there is a Halloween party? Everyone is in costume. Brody and Frankie are Batman and Robin. Lauren is a flapper chick I believe. Audrina is 80’s Madonna. Audrina has a new date already. His name is Corey and he is from Australia. Oh, and Jen Bunney is there as well. But that whole thing was weird. To sum it, Brody leaves the party before Lauren wanted him to.

Lauren tells Lo that she wants Brody to not date any other girls, but she wants him to want to do that, meaning it’s not her place to him who he can date and not date. This leads to a funny moment. Lauren and Brody go on a date. Lauren grabs his iPhone and proceeds to read off his phone book contact list. There are A LOT of girls on it and they have interesting names like “Britney Canada Whore”, “Blonde Hottie”, and “Bridget, Wanna Bang”. Basically, Lauren says “sometimes no matter how much you like a guy, they are just not good for you”. She refers to Brody her and basically compares him wants to Justin for Audrina. Nothing is really said other than that. Just a bunch of dancing around their feelings and we are left with no conclusion. Basically, a to be continued as next week is the season finale…

TUESDAY

A Shot of Love with Tila Tequila

We are down to three people. There are two women and one man. Tila takes them all to Mexico. Bobby is not that sad he is the only guy left. Dani thinks Bobby is threatened by that fact. All of them are confident that Tila will pick them in the end.

Tila has planned group activities for all 4 of them during the day and then at night each person gets some “alone time” with Tila. The first group date is swimming with the dolphins. Everyone talks about it being a once in a lifetime experience. Amanda especially loved it when the dolphins ripped off her bathing suit bottoms and gave her a “push”.

Amanda is a giant compared to Tila, by the way. However, she says she is more submissive around Tila. The next group date is zip-lining through the Mexican jungles. Amanda freaks out. Later, Bobby goes on his individual date, while Amanda and Dani go shopping.

Everyone then goes swimming and that is when Tila wants the other to talk trash about their competition. Almost like she wants them to make her decision easier. Amanda sells Dani down the river by telling Tila that Dani likes to go to strip clubs three times a week. Dani won’t talk trash about anyone, though. For some reason, while Dani and Tila have their date, Amanda decides that she and Bobby should dress up like each other. A little too weird. Although, it seems like Dani may be the leader as jealous really begins to set in.

But now it’s time to lose one more. Dani is the first one safe, because she opened up Tila on a level that she never knew she had. So it’s between Amanda and Bobby. In the end, Amanda is going home. Not a total shock. I knew Bobby would make it to the end. There has to be one guy and one girl left. But Dani is more like a guy, so that is a slight surprise. I still think Bobby wins this whole thing, though. We will find out next week!

WEDNESDAY

The Real World: Sydney

Issac returns from his grandfather’s funeral. He finds out that the house has gone to crap. He actually thinks Trisha going home is funny. Issac doesn’t think that anyone liked Trisha, but apparently Kelly Anne liked Trisha or at least she doesn’t like Trisha. But Issac could care less about the girl drama.

Dunbar and Ashli have been “spooning” a lot lately. But no “forking” yet. Issac tells Parisa that everyone was happy that Trisha left. Kelly Anne just needed something to do, so she got pissed according to him. He says he will beat the “Trisha” out of the “new Trisha”, Kelly Anne. I’m so glad Issac is back. He quickly sets everyone straight and tells the truth. There are no good qualities to Trisha, except she was “fun to party with” according to Ashli.

Kelly Anne eventually attempts to talk to Parisa, but Parisa can’t forget all the things that Kelly Anne said to her. Meanwhile, more flirting from Dunbar and Ashli. Later, Kelly Anne and Ashli come around to not liking Trisha as well. They are going to give Parisa a chance and try to get to know, etc.

This leads to the best moment of the season. In fact, probably of any Real World season EVER! Issac is naked and he decides to get his snorkel gear and hop into the fish tank! Yes, he is swimming naked in the fish tank inside the house! Fantastic! Dunbar then pretends it’s his birthday so they can party some more. Everyone seems happy without Trisha. Kelly Anne and Parisa chat in the hot tub. Parisa can’t believe she took Trisha’s side over her. Kelly Anne attempts to apologize, but Parisa is not ready to forgive just yet. Of course, that changes five minutes later as we have to end on a happy note.

But before that, we go back to more of Dunbar and Ashli. They go from the hot tub to the bed. They begin to “spoon”. Eventually, they kiss and we fade to a commercial. But when we come back we hear Dunbar talking on the phone with his girlfriend, Julie. Apparently something happened as Ashli writes an e-mail outloud or at least we can see what she is writing. She says they got a little carried away and ended up having sex. Dunbar won’t tell Julie, though. He will wait until he gets home apparently. Not sure if that is a smart move, but that’s his choice.

Actually we end with Parisa and Issac talking about his grandfather. He somewhat opens up to her. Apparently his grandfather was over 90 years old. He end with Parisa “cleansing” herself by jumping into the fountain and running through it in broad daylight with lots of people watching. Silly kids and their water fun!

THURSDAY

Run’s House

Justine’s sister stops by and drops of his very young daughter so that Run and Justine can babysit. Run pretty much acts like a child himself. “Rock the 40 oz baby food jar!” More crazy fun with dirty diapers and really that’s about it for the baby. Just what you might expect.

Meanwhile, Angela and Vanessa are mad that their “Pastry” line of shoes don’t have a bigger display inside Finish Line stores. They go to speak to Russell about it. He tells them to go meet Arthur Ashe’s niece, since they wanted to have a display next to Arthur Ashe’s big display. Angela and Vanessa eventually decide to create a show for charity with the Arthur Ashe Foundation.

Sir Linksalot: Reality Television

The last few weeks have been crazy for me personally, but have no fear. I haven’t gone on strike. I’m back to cover three weeks, yes THREE weeks worth of MTV action! So forget about those “double-stuffed” columns of the past. This one is “triple-stuffed”. So much MTV goodness it will be flowing out of your ears! Buckle up and hang on tight, this is going to be one fantastic ride on the Mix express…

MONDAY

The Hills

Let me sum the episode that happened two weeks ago for you real quickly. Heidi and Lauren yelled at each other. They yelled some more in public. They finally then talked at Lauren’s house, where a little more yelling happens and Lauren basically tells Heidi that she wants to forget Heidi from her life completely. Lauren still thinks Heidi is lying for Spencer.

Last week, Heidi and Spencer fight about wedding planning. Heidi doesn’t understand why Spencer doesn’t want to plan the wedding with her. Probably because he is a guy. For some reason, Heidi is now more concerned with her family and friends being at their wedding when the entire season she has only cared about her and Spencer.

Meanwhile, Whitney goes on a date with her personal trainer, Jaret. They go to “Big Wings” with Lauren and friends. Jaret and Whitney both just got out of an relationship and just want to have fun. So they are just two single people having fun. Whitney then tells Lauren about the date. She got the “friend vibe” from him. Lauren confirms what every guy should know. Women look at your shoes and they tell a lot about you. So get to shining!

After fighting with Spencer over him wanting to get married in Vegas, she gives the ring back at him. Apparently Heidi doesn’t want to marry Spencer until he is serious about him. Not going happen, but dare to dream. Spencer comes back home, after staying at his parents’ house, and apologizes. He wants to have a big wedding like Heidi now. “All I want to do is marry you!” says Spencer. That’s a song I’m sure.

This week, we meet Spencer’s sister! Who knew he had a sister?! Her name is Stephanie. Apparently she threatened Audrina and Lauren. But first she chats with Heidi and Spencer about their Heidi plans. They still can’t agree on anything.

More issues with Justin and Audrina. Justin always checks girls out in front of Audrina. Audrina says that Justin doesn’t seem to care about her in public. Later, Audrina and Justin go to the club with Lauren, Brody, and Frankie. Guess who is there as well? It’s Stephanie! Stephanie and her friend, Roxy, tell Lauren to leave Heidi alone, etc. She also says that Brody is on the “evil side”. Stephanie tells Lauren that if Spencer hates Lauren, she hates Lauren. Brody tells Stephanie to stay out of it. He loves Spencer, but he screwed up.

Now Justin gets in on the drama. It seems he just left and kissed some random girl in the club. Audrina doesn’t want to talk to Justin anymore. So she talks to him to tell him that. Justin looks to be on drugs right now. Audrina says that she is done. Justin says he would care if she went out with other guys, but still wants Audrina to wait on him to make a decision and do dumb things. That entire conversation made no sense. You want a perfect example of why girls can be dumb so many times? There you go! Listen to that entire conversation again! The emotions went from one extreme to the next. But once again Audrina falls into Justin’s arms.

Stephanies run back and reports to Spencer and Heidi about the Lauren fight the other night. Spencer says he doesn’t hang out with Brody, since Brody hangs out with someone that talks crap about him. Stephanie makes the point that Lauren doesn’t make Audrina chose between her and Justin, eventhough Lauren doesn’t like Justin. That’s because she is staying out of her friends’ relationships now since it cost her a friendship with Heidi. Heidi is tired of talking about Lauren and her friends, though.

Time for Audrina to tell Chiara, her co-worker, what had happened with Justin. Audrina says she was ready to say it’s over, but then they both got in the car and apparently she didn’t talk to Justin after that. She says she is seriously over him. That’s not what it seemed like in the parking lot, but it may have been the way they edited that. Anyways Justin comes over to Audrina’s house later that night and they talk. Justin lies and says he didn’t kiss that girl. We never really did get a good look at, but apparently lots of people saw him do it. Justin just thinks she wanted to see that, so she saw that. Audrina says this entire thing is hopeless. It will never work in the end. So it’s time to say goodbye and they should just be friends.

TUESDAY

A Shot of Love with Tila Tequila

Two weeks ago, Tila made the guys and girls eat bull penis and testicles! Yep, that’s nasty! Amanda won for the girls and Bobby won for the guys. They go to the next round and they have to eat eye balls, a heart, and then down a shot of blood. It just gets better and better. Bobby wins the entire thing. He gets to be in a hot tub with Tila.

Brandi and Vanessa still have her problems. They hate each other! Steven doesn’t want to share Tila with anyone. Tila then makes everyone write down who they think is the “most compatible” and the “least compatible” for Tila. They can’t pick themselves. The majority pick Dani as the “most compatible” and Vanessa as the “least compatible”. She still gets to have dinner with Tila to explain herself. Dani gets to have her dessert with Tila. Tila likes Dani because she is “the best of both worlds” according to her.

Two more people went home. The bottom four was Steven, Domenico, Vanessa, and Brandi. But the people going home are Steven and Vanessa! Steven took it okay, but Vanessa snaps and attacks Brandi right after Tila made her choice. They fight and get pulled apart. After the fight, Brandi says she can’t continue either due to the emotional stress all of this has caused her. She loves Tila, but she can’t do this anymore. And we get a to be continued…

Last week, we picked right up with what happened the week before. Since Brandi decided to leave, we are down to five. Tila makes them jump in chocolate and try to use their bodies to soak up as much as possible and then transfer it to a bucket. Bobby won again! Amanda is not happy. Boby gets an alone date with Tila.

Tila is confused. She likes strong man hands, but likes the soft touch of a woman as well. So she’s torn. She likes both Dani and Ryan. They go on a date together with Tila. Dani doesn’t like how Ryan is agressive towards Tila. Amanda and Domenico go on a date with Tila as well. Domenico likes the “threesome” date. Tila informs them that she will be meeting the parents of the “final four” and Domenico worries about telling his parents that Tila is bi-sexual. He thinks his parents won’t accept her.

Brandi comes back to the house and wants to get back in the competition. But Tila won’t let her. So one more person goes home this week and it was down to Domenico, Bobby, and Ryan. In the end, Domenico is gone and we have our “final four”! He doesn’t complain at all, by the way. No one wants Bobby to win for some reason. I honestly don’t know who Tila will pick right now.

But maybe that will change after this week. Tila meets the family of the final four. First, she goes to Worcester, New York. That is upstate New York, which is more country than you would expect. Tila meets Bobby’s mom, dad, stepmom, and stepdad there. Bobby’s mom doesn’t like Tila at all at first. But she eventually warms up to her.

Next, Tila goes to Pacific City, Oregon. That is where Amanda lives. Tila meets her stepmom and dad. Amanda’s parents seem more open to Tila being a bi-sexual. She also meets Amanda’s six adopted brothers and sisters, who have special needs.

The next destination is Trenton, New Jersey. Ryan is living the rich life there. Tila meets Ryan’s friends first. But Ryan’s dad is described as a “general”. He is an owner of a big oil company. Tila meets Ryan’s mom and dad and two sisters. Tila actually thinks one of Ryan’s sister is hotter than him. I have to agree. Ryan’s dad doesn’t seem to like Tila. They just have different values. Ryan eventually takes her up to his room where he manhandles her for real.

Finally, Tila arrives in Deerfield, Florida. That is where Dani lives. She is a firefighter, so Tila meets Dani’s firefighting co-workers. They love the girls and so does Dani, so there you go. Tila goes straight to the fire pole, where she becomes a stripper. Dani’s co-workers pump her up to try and persuade Tila to choose Dani. They eventually meet mom, grandmother, aunt, and two cousins. Apparently Dani hadn’t told her grandmother that she was gay, but she doesn’t really care when she finds out. Tila then proceeds to give grandmother a lap dance. So that was interesting.

We lose another one this week. Bobby is the first one safe. Dani is the next one safe. That leaves Amanda and Ryan. But only Ryan is going home. That shouldn’t surprise you, since that leaves three people that are unique to what Tila wants to find. They represent every possible outcome. Dani is the butch boyish lesbian. Amanda is the lipstick girlish lesbian. Bobby is just the regular straight guy. So it’s anyone’s game. Right now, I’m leaning towards Bobby. Tila says she only liked lipstick lesbians, so I’m not sure if Dani will last the next round but who knows. Next week, they all go on a trip to Mexico! Arriba!

WEDNESDAY

The Real World: Sydney

Two weeks ago, we learn that Issac used to do acid and sometimes he still sees random birds. Usually that means he is just having flashbacks, but sometimes he sees black birds and that always means that someone he knows has died. Issac just saw a black bird and think something is wrong. He calls back home and tries to see if his friend will see if anything is wrong.

The new roommate, Ashli, says she is “boy crazy”. She is only 19, keep in mind. She starts flirting with Dunbar. Dunbar thinks Ashli likes him and Parisa and Kelly Anne both agree that she looks just like Dunbar’s girlfriend, Julie. They don’t think Ashli will try anything with Dunbar, though.

At their work, Trisha, Parisa, and Issac are put into a team and Cohutta, Ashli, Dunbar, and Kelly Anne are put in another team. They have to put together the best two-day trip iteniary. The winning team gets a two week trip to Europe with all expenses paid. So let the competition begin! We will see if Trisha and Parisa can get along, though. They both agree to put personal issues aside for this.

Issac gets on the computer and learns that his grandfather has died. He goes and drinks with Noirin, his new friend from Australia. She comforts him. Issac tells the rest of the roommates that he may be flying to the United States. She doesn’t tell them why, though. That’s a little odd, but the roommates understand that Issac is a private person and they will only push him away if they ask him why he is going.

Dunbar talks to Julie for hours and Ashli informs us that “it’s a waste of a roommate for Dunbar to be cute and not be single”. Ashli is ready to compete. She is cocky! She likes a challenge and says she always gets the guy she wants. So Ashli grinds on Dunbar to make some random blonde Aussie chick jealous. Ashli then confronts the blonde Aussie chick and makes an ass out of herself.

Issac leaves without telling his roommates. So all of them are wondering where he went and for how long? They are worried about him. Ashli thinks she is all bad-ass now for what she said to that Aussie chick. Dunbar is just looking for trouble, since he goes out with ALL the girls the next night. He’s the only guy with them. And more flirting from Ashli occurs. Ashli wants to try out all the sexual positions with Dunbar. Apparently she likes to do one that Julie won’t do. It gets beeped out, though. Possibly something to do with a animal. Watch yourself!

Last week, Parisa and Trisha get into another argument over a phone call. Trisha is talking to her boyfriend, Jarod. Parisa’s mom keeps calling and that makes Trisha mad. They trade words about respect. Trisha doesn’t respect Parisa’s mom. Parisa doesn’t respect Trisha’s boyfriend. Blah, blah, blah, more on this later.

But first Dunbar and Julie have issues. Julie gives Dunbar the nickname “Dummy Bear”. Dunbar snaps because he doesn’t want to be called dumb. Julie acts like a junior high girl and Dunbar kinda acts like her junior high boyfriend. Dunbar gets made and then gets drunk. That means he is all over Ashli and Ashli is all over Dunbar. Ashli says the “Dunbar’s penis wants him to be single so bad!” Okay, she is about as dumb as Shauvon. Ashli says she is not a homewrecker, but she keeps talking dirty to Ashli. Ashli thinks Dunbar wants to have sex with her and Dunbar actually may be thinking that as well since Ashli looks eerily similar to Julie.

Next issue is cleaning up the house. The roommates clean, while Parisa talks to her mom. She tells her mom that Trisha has disrespected her family and she doesn’t like her anymore. She also says the house is too “violent” for her. You can tell where this is going to go. Parisa works out while the roommates continue to clean. Trisha says Parisa is messy and she doesn’t like messy people.

Dunbar eventually irons out her issues with Julie. Julie has a great Southern accent, by the way. They are definitely from Mississippi. But that doesn’t stop Dunbar from sleeping in the same bed as Ashli. He just likes to “sleep” next to someone. Cohutta doesn’t know what is going on between them, but he hopes Dunbar doesn’t regret anything.

More phone fighting between Parisa and Trisha and we FINALLY get the big fight! Yay! And yes, they do fight over who gets to talk on the phone. Kelly Anne takes Trisha’s side. The bottom line is girls hold grudges for the stupidest things! This whole conversation wears me out, so lets get to the good stuff. Trisha finally has had enough of Parisa talking about her and she runs over and pushes Parisa. Parisa confronts her and more yelling happens. Trisha becomes a complete hypocrite by pulling the “Christian” card to her mom. She only wants to act like a Christian when it’s convenient for her. Trisha HATES Parisa. Parisa either wants Trisha to go home or she wants the chance to go in and beat the crap out of Trisha. The conclusion is coming up next…

We pick up this week with more name calling. Trisha is fat and so is Parisa. Trisha’s dad tells her to apologize to Parisa. Bravo dad! She would be the bigger person then. Trisha did say that she was better than Parisa basically. It is now up to Parisa to decide if Trisha is going home or not. I thought that was automatic.

House meeting time! The roommates want Trisha to stay apparently. But Parisa wants Trisha to go home. So everyone will now hate Parisa for the rest of their time here. Why do they not want Trisha to go home? I have no clue. Trisha admits she was wrong, but thinks Parisa is wrong too. Honestly, I think they are both annoying so whatever. This Real World is starting to turn into Survivor. But thank god Trisha is going home! They dragged that out long enough.

Kelly Anne and Ashli promised Trisha to make Parisa’s life hell in the house. Ashli can’t say anything. She hasn’t been there long enough to have an opinion. Kelly Anne is just picking up the “juvenile” slack left by Shauvon and Trisha.

The funny thing about this is Parisa is the only left on her team at work. Issac is back home and Trisha is now gone. Their boss at work moves Ashli over to Parisa’s team and makes Ashli a team leader oddly enough. And that’s really it for this episode.

Pageant Place

Two weeks, the aftermath of the fight between Katie and Josh occurs. Apprently they made up and are still together. But Katie’s reign as Miss Teen USA is over. She shows up at the competition this year to give her crown to the new winner. This is the infamous pageant that had Miss South Carolina make a complete fool of herself! You know like “such as” and stuff. It’s great to see the reactions of the fellow contestants and former contestants. Josh is dumb by picking her to win, by the way. Tara and Rachel all laugh at Miss South Carolina. Miss Colorado ends up winning

Meet the new Miss Teen USA and also new roommate for Rachel and Riyo. Her name is Hilary Cruz. It’s nice to know that the old Miss Teen USA gets tossed in the trash can literally seconds after the new winner is announced. Of course, everyone wants to ask Hilary about Miss South Carolina. She gets tired of that very quickly. But for some reason Miss South Carolina shows up at Trump Headquarters. It’s almost like she won, since she is doing interviews as well. So yes, America does reward stupidity and that proves it!

Last week, we got more of the same. Rachel, Riyo, and Hilary pose for an ad campaign. They then head to the MTV Video Music Awards. Katie and Tara also joins in on the fun, of course. But once again the photographers only want to take pictures of Tara and Miss South Carolina, who shows up out of nowhere, because they made the most headlines! That just pisses Rachel and Hilary off since they are upstaged by people who either didn’t win or had already given up their crown. Miss South Carolina presented an award at the VMA’s, by the way. A side note, Ryan as in Life of Ryan makes an appearance with the girls in their “green room”, which is for “underage” people.

Okay, let me go off on a rant here. I didn’t watch the MTV VMA’s, so I didn’t see Miss South Carolina present that award. MTV made a complete mockery of the pageant. Those lines were written for her to say, which made it seem like Miss South Carolina meant to say what she said during the pageant. So not only does that make the Miss Teen USA pageant a joke, it makes this show a joke, and in a way makes the MTV VMA’s a joke. Yes, I know it was all for laughs and it was funny. But as I said before, that’s just rewarding stupidity, which just makes you look dumb in the end. Enough said about all of that!

Donald Trump likes people that make headlines and that’s obvious as he lets Tara ride in his helicopter, while the other girls have to ride in a car for a VERY LONG time. He also seems more interested in Miss South Carolina than Hilary. Hilary and Miss South Carolina, Lauren, have lunch together. Blah, blah, blah, awkwardness, blah, blah. Rachel and Tara then argue with each other. Blah, blah, blah, see the last line. I’m bored with this show. It’s all about making headlines.

Thankfully, this week is the final episode of this show. Sure, the girls are pretty but the whole show is unoriginal. It’s like The Real World: Trump Pageant Style on acid! Sorry, we already have a show on MTV where girls fight. It’s called The Hills. That’s enough.

But lets finish this off. We basically go full circle. It seems like everyone had their problems ironed out, but they just get dragged up again at the same restaurant where it started. Of course, Josh starts the fire and Katie and Tara keep it going. Fast-forward a little bit. Everyone hates Josh. Katie and Josh argue outside. Tara cries. Rinse, lather, repeat.

A few more shots of girls strutting their stuff and modeling. Especially Rachel, who walks in her first fashion show. Remember she fell down during the Miss Universe pageant. But she walks fine during this and the girls all hug. Of course, the show ends happily. Tara lets Riyo, Rachel, and Hilary shine on their own. She leaves the Trump Organization and Katie and Josh live happily ever after! THE END!!!

THURSDAY

Run’s House

To start off the double dose of Run’s House that aired two weeks ago, Run decides to open up “Camp Run”. Some friends of Diggy and Russy come over to the house for fun. They swim in the pool, Run makes them do layup drills, and then DJ Rev Run scratches some old school jams for the new youth of America. “These are the breaks!” by Curtis Blow to be exact. Run then tells the youngsters stories of the good old days and that is all for “Camp Run”. Entertaining as usual.

Also in this episode, Russell Simmons wants to create a new, young, hip clothing line for Phat Farm. Run suggests that JoJo go over to Russell’s house and give him ideas on the new line. JoJo thinks Phat Farm is something that older people wear, which is why Russell wanted JoJo’s help. But first Russell makes JoJo read a bunch of books about how to become a successful businessman. JoJo then does a little hard and says he would like to continue working there.

Rev Run sits in his tub and writes. Good morning. Do you make the most out of your resources? There is no better network than family. Appreciate what you have in your own backyard, because the grass isn’t always greener. Remember, your net work determines your net worth. God is love, Rev Run.

The second episode from two weeks ago saw Russy wearing a robe like Hugh Heffner to start off, which is odd. Angela had a photo shoot for her “Rundown” column. Omarion and Bow Wow pose with her. But Angela now wants her on magazine. Angela meets with the founder of Word Up! Magazine about that. But first she sets up a launch party for her new magazine at a locacl club. That is actually before she gets it, though. In the end, they agree to print one trial issue of Angela’s magazine.

Other random things during this episode. Vanessa’s dog, Juicy, is thought to be pregnant but it turns out she is not. Diggy dances for his mom for money. Run wants Diggy to dance on command. But Diggy won’t dance for his dad, though.

All the stars come out to Angela’s launch party. And yes, Diggy does dance. He’s a young version of Chris Brown. Diggy tells his dad that he is not just a dancer. He can also sing and dance. That is his “triple threat”. Look out!

Rev Run sits in his tub again and writes. Good morning. Are you living up to your full potential? Don’t wait for the invitation to get ahead, go ahead. You can’t win the race until you join the race. Remember, those who reach get the grapes. God is love, Rev Run.

This week we get only one episode. Kid Rock is in town and Rev Run invites him to stay at his house. Apparently Kid Rock was very accomendating to Run down in Malibu, when he was there. So he is returning the favor.

Meanwhile, the Girl Scouts of America want Angela and Vanessa to be the “role models” for the organization. They get bombarded with questions from a group of teenage girls. They are giving back to the community. Everyone feels good about it.

Kid Rock, Diggy, Russy, Run, JoJo, and Justine all go to Hooters. Kid Rock gives Russy a shirt of his and they have a contest. Whoever gets the most compliments about the shirt they are wearing from the Hooters waitresses wins something. Russy wins hands down, but Kid Rock does have a funny shirt that says “I ‘heart’ Black People”. Later, Kid Rock gets Russy a new guitar. It costs $3,000!! Kid Rock finally leaves but not before he puts a Hooters bumper sticker on the bumper of Run’s Phantom!

Sir Linksalot: Reality Television

Another show possibly gets the early plug and it’s even more proof that MTV listens to me! I should run that channel by now. Don’t believe me, keep reading. The proof is right there in print. I don’t make this stuff up. Oh, and the usual mixture of fun in the sun in late Fall. What else could you want?….

MONDAY

The Hills

Lauren and Whitney are still on the big assignment for the “Young Hollywood” party. Lisa, their boss, tells them there better be no screw ups. Somehow the red carpet gets backed up and the party is running 30 minutes late already. Then more confusion as Lauren can’t communicate with Whitney. But Whitney takes control and everything seems to turn out okay.

It’s also Heidi’s 21st birthday. She’s so young. Spencer then takes her out to dinner and gives her a Chanel bag or something. Heidi still seems a little depressed that the only person she gets to spend her 21st birthday with is Spencer. But she says she would only want to spend her birthday with him. Her face still tells a different story.

Audrina and Justin have a “date” later as well. They go to “The Viper Room” to hear a new band called “The Ruse”. Audrina works for Epic Records, you know, so she wants to take their CD back to work with her. The band invites Audrina and Justin to hang out with them later. Justin seems a little jealous, though. One of the band members, Mark, thinks Audrina is into her. So he asks Justin what her “status” is? Justin says “she’s pretty good” to answer his question of whether Audrina is “available or not”. Basically, that’s saying that they are a couple without actually saying it.

Kaya

MTV ran a repeat of Pageant Place here this week, so no new episode. But this show still appears on the air. They did run two new episodes last week, which was odd so maybe it was mistake. I won’t miss it, if it is gone, though. Lets move on…

TUESDAY

A Shot of Love with Tila Tequila

Tila makes the guys and girls get into teams and wash a couple of dirty cars. They have to do so with very little clothes on and sponges on their bodies. They get “down and dirty” for real. The winning team is Micheal, Ashli, Bobby, Amanda, and Ryan. The losers are Brandi, Vanessa, Domenico, Dani, and Steven.

The winners get a spa treatment with Tila. Michael even gets his private areas waxed! Ouch! They then get alone time with tila. The losers get some alone time with Tila as well but they are supposed to sleep outside. The girls end up sleeping with Tila, though. Everyone just makes their case to Tila.

Vanessa wants to be the center of attention. She runs around naked and wants everyone to look at her. She is trying to use her sex appeal on the boys, especially Bobby. Bobby is having none of it. Now Vanessa is acting like a stalker. Brandi tries to confront Vanessa about her behavior, but she just gets pissed off. She throws water at Brandi and they start yelling at each other. Brandi and Vanessa seem ready to fight, but just a bunch of talk. Vanessa says she is done talking to the others.

Now it’s time for “Tila De Mayo”. They get on their Mexican attire and get ready for a fiesta! This competition is guys vs. girls. They have to spin around in a chair and then try and carry a tray full of drinks. Whoever gets the most drinks to Tila wins. It was a tie until the end when Dani is able to get more drinks than Steven. Steven says everyone, including himself, is disappointed in him.

Before elimination Brandi and Vanessa tell Tila the “Bobby situation” and Tila could care less. She actually looks down on them for all of the drama that’s not needed. Of course, Vanessa lies to Tila. Tila then talks to Bobby to hear the whole story and he tells her the truth.

It’s finally time for two more people to go home this week. The “bottom four” are Michael, Bobby, Vanessa, and Ashli. The ones going home, though, are Ashli and Michael! Ashli is just too young and innocent for Tila. So no surprise at all. Tila keeps the “drama king and queen” in favor of the nice and less dramatic people. Despite what Tila says, she DOES want drama! Or maybe she knows the show is better with drama. Yeah, that’s probably more realistic.

WEDNESDAY

The Real World: Sydney

Shauvon went home last week to please her boyfriend. Dumb move, but no time to cry. We have a new, young, and probably slightly dumb girl to take her place. Trisha and Kelly Anne wonder what the new girl will be like. They think she will probably have a chip on her shoulder.

But lets meet her, shall we? Her name is Ashli. She is 19 and is from California as well. So the differences are she has dark hair and is 4 years younger. She is also single and apparently she is ready to mingle. Yep, she actually said that. She really looks like she is 15, though. She runs around and introduces herself. Dunbar thinks she is attractive and Ashli thinks the same of him.

Besides all of that, Issac finally talks to his girl “friend” he met in Australia. Her name is Noirin. Issac tells Noirin about Shauvon and she thinks she is retarded as well. She does bring up a good point about Issac making out with Shauvon. But that was all in good fun. I’m sure David won’t mind. We found out in their conversation that Issac is Jewish.

Ashli fears that she will be an outsider to the group since they have already bonded. Ashli moves in and rips off Shauvon’s pictures from the wall. Trisha thinks she and Ashli are the same person without the same hair color. Ashli bonds with Trisha over shopping. Parisa is mad that Ashli is more like Trisha than Parisa. So that means we have to hear “Like I Know!” from those two a few thousand times.

Back on the Issac front. He really likes Noirin. Issac goes out to the club and invites four girls home. But nothing is happening here. Kelly Anne thinks that he just really wants to be with Noirin only, so he kicks them out. Still Noirin doesn’t take this news that well when Issac tells her. He realizes he made a mistake inviting the girls back in the first place. Issac just has a good time hanging out with Noirin.

Parisa doesn’t like Ashli. Kelly Anne and Parisa think that Ashli is just asking them questions to learn more about them, so she can attack them later apparently. Parisa is not down with that. Parisa is actually afraid of Ashli. Ashli just rubs her the wrong way and Parisa says part of that fear comes from her relationships with the other roommates, which have turned out to not be that great.

Pageant Place

Apparently Katie is done with her reign as “Miss USA”. So that means she is moving out. But before that here comes Tara to take the girls out and Josh, of course, on a tour of New York City. Josh is just obnoxious the entire episode and looks like Katie is getting tired of his antics as well.

Katie is sad to leave. She and the other girls are finally getting along. They take her to a psychic to tell her the future. Of course, the question of whether she is in love with Josh or not comes up. Katie doesn’t answer right away. And that’s that.

The rest of this episode is just a big love fest! They all may not be best friends, but they do respect each other. They will miss Katie. But it’s time for Katie to move out of the house. Tear! One last speech about how boys suck when you are “Miss USA”. Tara’s voice is annoying, if you haven’t noticed. I thought I would just throw that out there. Here is an interesting sidenote: Katie calls her boyfriend “Joshy”. So I’m not the only one. Being called Joshy by girls I mean.

Anywho, there is time for Katie and Josh to argue some more. They finally do break up. Katie got smart. The President of the “Miss Universe Organization” overhears the argument and talks to Katie. And really that is all for this episode. No more Josh period and no more Katie in the house. Does that mean the show is over **cross your fingers**? We’ll find out next week!

THURSDAY

Run’s House

Rev Run plays matchmaker for Diggy. Or at least he tries really hard. Diggy is friends with a girl named Catherine. Catherine is friends with Brittney. Brittney happens to be Ja Rule’s daughter. “It’s Murder!” “Where Would I Be Without My Baby!”

Vanessa is freaking out. She memorized all of lines for her soap opera job. But then they went and changed them, so she had to start all over again. She thought she had a handle on that, but here comes another revision! Lucky for her Run gives her a “pep rap” and Vanessa handles her business.

Ja Rule comes over to the house and Run and him talk about marriage plans and who pays for it? Getting a little ahead of ourselves, aren’t we? Diggy swears that he only likes Brittney has a friend. But really he is only like 12 or something, so maybe he is doesn’t know that he REALLY likes Brittney. Run finally tells Diggy that he has been joking with him regarding Brittney. He will just mind his own business.

Rev Run sits in his tub and writes. Good morning. Are you prepared for bumps in the road? A path without obstacles is a path without challenges. Another “double dose” week! Run gets a flyer from the Mohegan Sun Resort & Casino in nearby Connecticut. They are trying to attract celebrities and offer Run and a guest VIP passes and a suite. Justine doesn’t really want to go. She suggests he takes JoJo. I don’t think he is 21, but that’s just a minor detail.

JoJo and his friends, Reggie and Zach, are trying to get into the music business. Run thinks they have talent. Reggie does the “J5″ dance, which is what the “Jackson Five” did back in the day. It looks dumb, but it’s old-school smooth.

Once they arrive at the Mohegan Sun, Run and JoJo got golfing. “Tiger Tiger Woods Ya’ll!” They both suck, but they have fun. It was bonding experience for sure. All is good until the drive home. JoJo left his favorite cologne at the hotel and he freaks out. Run thought it was not a big deal, but to JoJo it is. In the end, they talk things out and all is good again. Much love!

Meanwhile, Russy wants to change his room up. He thinks it’s too childish for him. Run allows him to change his room, if Justine and everyone else can change his room in the one day he is gone with JoJo. It’s a close call, but they get it done. It looks COMPLETELY different, but it looks good.

MONDAY

The Hills

Lauren and Whitney go to New York City to the Teen Vogue headquarters there. They think they are there for the “Young Hollywood” party. But the New York editor of the magazine, Amy Astley, has other ideas. Whitney handles the meeting with the “Young Hollywood” party, while Amy sends Lauren down to the Marc Jacobs Design Studio to meet with Kate Waters. Basically she is going to be another gopher for a photo shoot there.

Lauren’s and Whitney’s experiences in New York City were somewhat similar. Meaning they didn’t go very well. Whitney has to present the location of the party to everyone and she has to deal with Amy grilling her at every turn. It doesn’t turn out that well and they don’t like her ideas so much. Lauren does get to meet Marc Jacobs, but she has to work really hard at the photo shoot. But meeting Marc was worth it apparently.

Lauren and Whitney next go to a tasting for the “Young Hollywood” party. They get to taste food for the party. Lisa Love is there and she tells Whitney that her presentation went really well according to Amy. So surprise there. Lisa says that Whitney’s dress was quite formal, but obviously she didn’t see Lauren’s dress.

In other news, Spencer deals with him having a lack of friends. First, he runs into Frankie, Brody’s manager/friend. Frankie says that him and Brody tried to reach out to him on birthday. They want to be friends with him still, but they are going to be friends with Lauren as well so he will just have to deal with it.

Brody goes over to Lauren’s house and tells her, and us, that Spencer called him and he hasn’t called him back yet. He tells her that he doesn’t think they will ever be best friends and doesn’t want to make up with him. Lauren says she doesn’t want to be responsible for breaking up a friendship. Brody swears that he doesn’t want to talk to Spencer, because he doesn’t want to talk to him. Nothing to do with Lauren. They cuddle on the couch to end this episode. Awww…

Kaya

Here is the recap for this week’s episode, which is actually two episodes in one, of MTV’s “scripted” show:

Kaya lingers at her hotel room window, taking in the sun’s rays, when the doorbell rings. It’s Kaya’s friend Natalee, who tells Kaya that bloggers and tabloids are going berserk over her onstage antics that left her band, Crossing Coldwater, high and dry in front of a live audience. The rising rock star slumps down on the couch, feeling like the whole world is out to get her.

Over at Metro Sound, the record label fat cats meet with Kaya’s father/manager, trying to concoct an excuse the media will buy about why Kaya walked off stage. Dehydration? Exhaustion? Drugs? After deciding on a game plan, they blame her father for the fiasco, chastising him for his inability to keep Kaya under his thumb.

As Natalee rushes an extremely late Kaya to the recording studio, Kaya wonders where she stands with her bandmates Gunnar, Taylor and Manny. She’s fearful that they might throw in the towel. Meanwhile, in the studio, her bandmates are discussing the exact same thing. They’re afraid she’s going to walk out on them. When Kaya arrives, the tension is thick.

Flashback to a small garage, as a fledgling band argues over whether they should name themselves Genitalia. Yup, that’s the name Crossing Coldwater originally wanted to go with. Well, at least that’s the name Gunnar, Taylor and Manny picked out. But, after realizing it didn’t really sum up their vibe — and Taylor mentioned that it takes him an hour to cross over Coldwater Canyon to get home — they decided on Crossing Coldwater.

Now, that same band sits in the studio, facing a mountain of problems. Kaya apologizes, saying she didn’t think about how her actions would affect the rest of the band. Relieved, everyone decides it’s time to start over, and they begin to record a new song, “Kiss and Make Up.”

As Kaya builds into the chorus, the door opens. In rushes Rossi, an executive from Metro Sound. He stands there staring at Kaya, then says that the label won’t spend millions of dollars so that she can walk offstage because she’s upset about her dead sister. The room falls silent. Rossi has the sound engineers kill the studio lights, the recording session is over.

Night rolls around and the band is out on the town partying it up at their favorite bar. Kaya gets a text message from her father, saying they must talk about why she stormed offstage and how to make things right. The rest of the band brushes it aside, noticing a few cute ladies trying to get past the velvet ropes to meet them. When the guys go off hoping to score with the girlies, Kaya and Natalee chill. Natalee asks Kaya why she and Gunnar are no longer an item. Kaya admits to making a bad decision one night when she hooked up with another guy. While Kaya doesn’t think Gunnar cares about her anymore, Natalee disagrees.

Kaya reminisces about the past, going back to Crossing Coldwater’s days as an unknown garage band, before she and Gunnar started dating. When Gunnar first asked her out, she couldn’t believe her luck. Now, it seems like he couldn’t care less about her.

The next day Kaya realizes she’s in desperate need of an assistant. Despite conducting a bunch of interviews, Kaya can’t find a good match. When Natalee comes in, bearing gifts and food, Kaya gets an idea. Why not hire Natalee as her assistant? She caters to Kaya anyway, so why not pay her? The choice is made, and it seems like the perfect match.

When Kaya meets up with her father, he’s writing a $90,000 check to settle her walk-off. It seems that Kaya’s money is dwindling, and until she does what the record label wants her to do, including making the rounds with apologies, she isn’t allowed back in the studio. She looks at the speech they want her recite and refuses to give in to their demands. Her father is dumbfounded. Could Kaya really give up everything she’s worked for?

Flashback to Kaya’s childhood bedroom. Harsh words are heard down the hallway. The front door slams and a car peels out of the driveway. She flies down the stairs looking for her mother but finds her father with his head in his hands. She touches his shoulder, asking, “What happened?” He slowly pulls his head up and says he’s sorry.

Now, her father asks her how many people get to live out their dreams. Kaya storms out of his office, saying her dream is to record her music, her way. She’s getting fed up with people calling her a sellout and a liar. Her father looks her dead in the eye and reminds her she’s a rock star.

After giving it some thought, Kaya publicly apologizes for her onstage antics and does all the damage control the record label expects her to do, claiming she suffered from exhaustion the night of her public meltdown. Happy with her performance, Rossi thinks she’s bigger than ever and can’t wait to get her back in the studio. But she can barely look him in the eye.

Hitting the stage for a live performance, the band begins with the same song that caused Kaya’s headline-making meltdown. Once again, Kaya stops, saying she just can’t do it and leaves the stage. Everyone is shocked. She did it again! But just as her father and Rossi are about to strangle her, she rushes back onstage and shouts, “Just kidding!”

In her dressing room after the show, the mysterious girl that’s been haunting Kaya appears, but this time Kaya knows who the girl is — it’s her dead sister, who applauds Kaya for her acting skills. She points out that by doing everything the record company wants her to do, Kaya isn’t being true to herself. Right then, Kaya decides it’s time for her to embrace being a rock star, and she walks out into a sea of paparazzi.

Natalee wakes up Kaya, rattling off a huge to-do list. Kaya finds her friend-turned-new-assistant to be quite humorous in her serious approach to planning out the day. When room service arrives, Natalee asks why there are so many carts. Apparently, Kaya couldn’t decide what she wanted for breakfast so she got one of everything.

When Natalee says they’re going to the gym, Kaya says the only thing they’ll be exercising is her credit card. After purchasing a new BMW and buying a vintage Aerosmith shirt right off some girl’s back, Kaya’s checking account is rapidly running low.

In the recording studio, producer T. Davis hands Crossing Coldwater some sheet music, saying they will learn these songs for the album. When the band realizes that the songs were written by other artists, they refuse to play them. T insists that these songs must appear on the album, but the band stands their ground.

At a bar, bandmates Kaya, Gunnar, Taylor and Manny take a couple shots, trying to forget the absurdity of their day, when in walks Kaya’s father. As the band’s manager, he demands to know how many times they’re going to try to screw up their multi-million-dollar record deal. The band wonders what side he’s on, and Gunnar, Taylor and Manny decide that they either have to get a new producer or a new manager. Kaya keeps quiet, not siding with either her band or her father.

In the studio, T blames Kaya’s dad for the fact that he has to put up with Kaya’s fresh attitude. T quits, saying that the band is preventing him from producing an award-winning album. When Kaya’s father tells the band the news, they are ecstatic and can’t believe that things are finally going their way.

To celebrate, Kaya and her bandmates party hard, and Natalee reminds Kaya of her appearance on Carson Daly’s show the next day. But Kaya just jumps on a table and dances. Natalee looks away in disapproval, as does Gunnar. Could all the money and fame be going to Kaya’s head?

Backstage at Carson Daly’s show, Kaya throws up in the bathroom. Natalee stands by, watching over her in disbelief. The tension grows as Kaya yells at her friend, saying Natalee isn’t her mother. Once Kaya cleans herself up, she steps in front of the cameras to perform. All goes well ? at first. Then, her voice begins to fail because of all the hard partying the night before. The crowd’s applause turns to boos and Kaya ends up looking like a fool.

The next day, she apologizes to Natalee and offers her a gift, a brand-new BMW! Natalee is shocked. Now, with generosity running through her veins, Kaya thinks of a great way to upstage her horrible performance on Carson Daly’s show, which is now all over the Internet. Her high school had written her a letter, asking if she could give back to the school by performing at a dance. Sounds like the perfect plan!

The band busts through the gym doors and makes their way to the stage, giving a surprise performance. After the stellar set, Kaya asks her ex, Gunnar, to hang out. Looks like they have a date.

There’s a flashback to a gig the band had played years before at some lame party. Kaya told Gunnar that she missed her prom for this monstrosity, so he turned down the lights and said it wasn’t too late for her to have the time of her life. They danced, and sparks flew. Now, Kaya sadly watches Gunnar as he drives away. When someone asks if she’s OK, she says it’s nothing that a few drinks can’t cure.

TUESDAY

A Shot of Love with Tila Tequila

Tila puts the guys and girls through another contest. Something having to do with blow-up dolls. In the end, the girls win. They meets they get to go to “heaven” with Tila, while the guys get to go to “hell” with Tila. So that means the girls get rewarded, while the guys get punished by spanking and torture.

Here are the major and random events of this week. Tila enjoys her time with all of the remaining girls, except for Brandi, who accidentally steps on a lizard and kills it while carrying Tila away. Tila gets freaked out and doesn’t spend any alone time with Brandi as a result. Ashley liked getting spanked by Tila and that just made Tila mad. Ashley then comes on a little too strong and basically tells Tila that he loves her.

The next competition is a masseuse contest. One guy and one girl, who did the best, will receive alone time with Tila. This basically turns into a big “who can grope Tila the most legally on TV” contest. Every single person is jealous of all the others when they see them rubbing on Tila. Brandi and Ryan eventually win this competition, though. Alone time for them. Tila makes out with both of them in the hot tub as expected.

But now it’s time for two more people to go home this week. The “bottom four” are Dani, Bobby, Ashley, and Sara. The ones going home, though, are Ashley and Sara! Tila just didn’t have a connection with Sara, and Ashley is just crazy! Ashley then talks trash on the remaining guys. Ashley then goes after Bobby, because he was laughing at him. They scuffle, and Ashley gets kicked off the property as he shouts “TILA!” But who didn’t see that coming? At the end, though, Bobby has to go to the hospital to get checked out. Tila really doesn’t want to see Bobby get hurt and may have feelings for him. More fights to come as this thing turns into a complete cirus sooner rather than later!

WEDNESDAY

The Real World: Sydney

The roommates get to go on a trip for their work. So it’s a combination vacation/work assignment. They are going to Cairns, Australia. It’s the northern part of Australia and the Great Barrier Reef is there. The roommates minus one (see below) have a blast snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef and bungee jumping from 160 feet up.

Shauvon still has dumb boyfriend issues. Her ex-boyfriend doesn’t want her in Australia and flips out when she tells him about the “vacation”. This is just plain dumb and annoying. Let me break it down for you. Shauvon can’t live without David, but apparently she couldn’t give up the chance to go to Australia. Now she has second thoughts and is giving in to her retarded boyfriend. After all the teasing here it is. Yes, Shauvon is leaving Australia and The Real World! I really wanted Trisha to leave, but Shauvon was getting just as annoying so time for some new blood! How much you want to bet that Shauvon is not together with David right now?

Want another example of just a young girl who has no clue? Enter Kelly Anne, who is still talking to her ex-boyfriend. How many times do these girls have to get burned before they learn? The over/under is set at 3 from what I have seen. Cohutta says that until Kelly Anne can separate herself from her ex, there will be nothing between them.

Now it’s time for jealousy. Cohutta invites some other random girl to hang out with the guys. He does this in front of Kelly Anne. Kelly Anne proves her age once more by getting all dressed up and then flirts and dances with some random Aussie guy. Then Parisa comes in and steals Kelly Anne’s guy away from her. Good lord, that’s nothing to fight over, but they will probably.

Time for drunken confrontation argument time! Parisa flirts heavily and Kelly Anne calls her a slut. They argue, yada, yada. Cohutta has it right when he says that Kelly Anne is acting like a 12-year-old girl. Cohutta tries to put some sense into Kelly Anne and it seems to work. Kelly Anne decides to give Cohutta a chance. Love may be in the air. But next week we meet the new roommate. Her name is Ashli and she’s a young one. Great!

Pageant Place

Girls love to pretend that everything is good and smile in each other’s faces, when they really hate each other and hold grudges FOREVER! Rachel and Tara don’t like each other, neither does Rachel and Katie. Oh wait, neither does Katie and Tara. Seems like the only person who everyone gets along with is Riyo.

Rachel and Katie go work at the “Gay Men’s Health Crisis” kitchen. Rachel called Katie a “teeny bopper” last week, because Katie has never worked hard in her laugh. Rachel has actually worked and she continues to throw that in Katie’s face this episode. Katie just makes a fool out of herself. She tries to pretend that she has a clue about what she wants to do with her life, you know, after this Miss Teen USA thing. Acting and singing maybe, but she can’t sing or can she? I don’t think she even knows. Katie is 19, but why does it look like she is drinking wine? Oh, it’s a MTV show!

Katie and her boyfriend, Josh, only see each other every two weeks. So apparently that means they taped this show every two weeks, because he seems to be in every freakin’ episode. Maybe he’s just trying to get attention like Spencer from The Hills. Tara and Rachel work things out and talk about Katie.

Tara and Katie finally talk, which means lots of crying is involved. Basically it comes down to this. They want to be friends again and perhaps they have buried the hatchet. They are young girls, so more than likely that’s true. Katie then goes on some dresses and burps out loud. She gets yelled at by the pageant contest people. That’s not a lady-like thing to do.

Meanwhile, Riyo tries to learn ridiculous American phrases that make no sense but that we say every day. Riyo tells Katie to figure herself out before she does something she doesn’t want to do. Tara and Katie then go to lunch make fun of people and smile at the paparazzi.

Okay, I can’t do it anymore. This show is so mind-numbingly bad. This is the reason why I don’t review any of the other “pageant-related” shows. Basically, this show is just trying to create drama for the sake of drama. The girls are so immature, it’s just stupid. Kinda like The Real World, but there are no males on this show which makes it hard to stomach. I will stick with it until the end, though. I just won’t like it.

THURSDAY

Run’s House

Two main issues this week. Both having to do with younger and older siblings. Diggy is getting into girls and that leaves Russy out in the cold. Meanwhile, Vanessa is busy with her new job on the Guiding Light and Angela is stuck with nothing to do.

Diggy and Russy play video games, but every 5 seconds some girl is texting and calling Diggy. Diggy sets up some dates, while he kicks Russy out of his room. Russy reacts by wearing Diggy’s clothes. He just wants to be older. Run thinks that Russy wants to be into girls like Diggy.

Angela is sad that she has nothing to do, while Vanessa has this great job. Angela really wants to be in Los Angeles. Angela decides to run an idea past Rasheed Young, President of Run Athletics. That leads to her proposing a clothing line from her and Vanessa to Solomon Dabah, President of Vida Shoes International. Vanessa is a little mad that Angela did all of that without her, but she gets over it quickly.

Run takes Diggy out and gears him up to get the girls. Diggy and JoJo takes Russy to Ben & Jerry’s to get some ice cream and pick up some chicks. Russy won’t talk any of the girls, though. Russy just wants to have cool clothes. He wants nothing to do with girls. Diggy and Justine finally tell Russy to just be himself and have his own style. Run tries to bring up the girl subject to him, but he doesn’t want to talk about it at all.

Rev Run sits in his tub and writes. Good morning. How do you make a partnership work? Communication is the key that will open the door to success. Work with one another not against. Only then will a partnership reach its full potential. Remember to get to your dreams, you have to work as a team. God is love, Rev Run.

But we are not done. MTV decided to run another episode of Run’s House in place of Making Menudo that just made its debut last week. Apparently Making Menudo got moved to Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. ET/PT. Okay, that timeslot is odd in some many ways. That show must be dead! Good luck finding that. Although, it might be back to this spot next week but consider it pretty much dead and buried. No way I’m covering the show on Sunday morning. Now on to the second episode of Run’s House this week.

This episode has two more issues. Angela thinks she will have a star on the “Hollywood Walk of Fame”. She wants to get a tattoo to represent her future star. The boys have no manners. Justine wants to teach them some manners and asks some help from a professional.

Diggy and Russy rat out Angela and her tattoo. Speaking of which, Run’s brother, Russell Simmons, comes over with his new girlfriend. Her name is Porschila and she has a tattoo of some cherries on her ass. Angela and Vanessa go to a tattoo shop and Angela decides to get a temporary tattoo that is airbrushed on. It lasts one week. It says “Pastry”, which is the name of the shoe line she is involved with.

Angela finally sucks it up and talks to her dad about the tattoo. Actually everyone else tells Run about the tattoo and he goes and talks to her. He finally agrees it seems and they head to the tattoo parlor again to get the real thing. Run plays deal maker. Angela agrees to get a small star on her foot instead of the word “pastry” on her wrist.

Justine hires Nancy a.k.a. “Miss Manners” to come to the house and teach the entire family some etiquette. She goes through greetings, napkin positioning, and even Hooters etiquette. Run and Angela finally arrive to etiquette class. Run is surprised to see some of the things she is teaching his family. But it all ends well.

Rev Run sits in his tub and writes. Good morning. Do you mind your P’s and Q’s? Sometimes we all need a refresher course in proper etiquette. If please and thank you are the magic words then cast your spell and let them be heard. Remember conduct yourself like an orchestra and keep your behavior in tune. God is love, Rev Run.

Sir Linksalot: Reality Television

We get three new shows this week, but one is not totally new. In fact it’s an old favorite of many. That being the return of Run’s House That brings our total of shows to cover to 7. All of them get covered in this new mix, some way or another. So hang on tight, it’s another wild ride on the MTV express…

MONDAY

The Hills

Lauren wants a new man. But she doesn’t know where she stands with Brody. Lauren is also busy with Whitney as they attempt to pick out male models for the “Young Hollywood” party for their job. Hard job for them. Lauren runs into a model named Gavin. Lauren tried to set him up with Heidi back in the day. Anyone for Heidi to date except Spencer. Gavin then makes his move on Lauren. Lauren gives him her number and they may hang out this weekend. Whitney doesn’t say a word about it. Haha!

Heidi gets a new “event coordinator” at her work. Kimberly takes Elodie’s place. Spencer doesn’t like the fact that Heidi is working all the time now, even though he pushed her into getting this promotion. Heidi gives Spencer a small burn by saying that maybe Spencer should try working some time.

Lauren brings Gavin to Brody’s BBQ. This should be interesting. Gavin brings his friend as well and Brody puts down Gavin at every turn. Gavin is not scoring major points on his own. Lauren doesn’t like to camp, while Gavin does. Not a match, the board goes back. Gavin and Brody talk as they cook for Lauren. Brody’s friend, Frankie, thinks Brody got jealous that Lauren brought Gavin here. Lo and Frankie talk to Lauren about her feelings for Brody, which she denies. Brody pretty much does the same thing as well. So Brody is like Lauren’s dad here.

Spencer continues to get more and more mad when Heidi has no time to go out to eat with him when he wants her to. You know, she has a real job, which he can’t seem to get the concept of. Gavin and Lauren have their date and they continue to not match up so well. They give it a good try, though. Lauren tells him that all her recent dates have seemed normal at first, but ended up being crazy. Not a great thing to say Lauren. But after the date Lauren calls Brody and tells him that there were “no sparks” between her and Gavin. Then, she invites Brody over to watch a movie with her. Well really he invites himself over, but she gave out the signals and Brody just picked up on them. Not an entirely bad thing, I guess. We shall see.

Kaya

Really this show shouldn’t be in this column. Honestly, it shouldn’t be on MTV. This is a “scripted” show. This is not a reality show. Some would argue that most of MTV’s “reality” shows often walk the thin line between being “unscripted” and “scripted”, but at least all of those shows feature “real” people. The characters in Kaya are played by actors. As far as the content of the show, well it looks like every other reality show on MTV. Typical teen drama. In fact, I think you can just call this show a “scripted” version of Cheyenne, since it features a young girl in the music business. That being said, I will still continue to cover the show here for those interested. But I will only be provided a recap. Don’t look for any extra commentary. If you want my thoughts on “scripted” shows, head on over to Prime Time Pulse. Anyways here is what happened on the premiere episode of Kaya.

Thousands of fans anxiously await Kaya, the world’s biggest up-and-coming rock star. Kaya’s manager eyes her backstage. He counts down the moments before Kaya is supposed to hit the stage. As the crowd grows restless, rumors swirl that Kaya has bailed on the show and her band, “Crossing Coldwater”. Before we go any further, though, lets flash back.

Three weeks earlier, at a press conference to discuss the band’s new recording contract with major label Metro Sound, Kaya strolls in, signing autographs for fans as reporters bombard her with questions. The inquiries are about her band or lack thereof. It looks like the rest of Crossing Coldwater, drummer Gunnar, guitarist Taylor and bassist Manny, have decided not to show up, but Kaya doesn’t lose her cool. She says her bandmates are probably still asleep or getting ready to party later that night.

When a reporter asks whether Crossing Coldwater, whose first album went platinum, is on the brink of breaking up, Kaya halfheartedly laughs. As she’s inundated with questions about selling out, trashing hotel rooms and whether she’s launching a solo career, Kaya grows quiet. The pressure of being a rock star is clearly taking its toll on this 21-year-old singer.

As Kaya retreats from the conference room, she refuses to do any more interviews. She hates feeling like a piece of meat that’s being thrown to the lions. Kaya’s father, who’s also her manager, tries to calm her down but she ends up peeling out of the garage in his car, finally safe from the hungry mob.

At a lavish party thrown by her new label, Kaya is introduced to Grammy award-winning producer T. Davis, who wants to produce Kaya and Crossing Coldwater’s next album. After the band finds out that they’ll be able to stay in a pimped out Malibu mansion while recording their new album, they take a celebratory dip in the pool. When Gunnar tries to put the moves on Kaya he’s interrupted by Taylor, who cannonballs off the balcony above.

The following week the group heads into the studio with T. As they rehearse a very personal ballad Kaya wrote, T halts the performance, saying no one is going to listen to such a depressing song. Kaya thinks people will relate, but T says it won’t sell. He says people listen to music so they can fantasize about getting lucky, meaning sad songs don’t sell, sex does. When he says he’s going to retool the song to make it more marketable, Kaya storms out of the studio.

Crossing Clearwater’s Gunnar, Taylor and Manny chase Kaya outside, trying to reason with her so they can finish the album. Kaya reveals she slept with T and thinks he’s just out to hurt her by tinkering with a song that’s close to her heart. As her bandmates try to talk her into changing the tempo of the song to appease T, she wonders if they even care about what the album will sound like or if they just want a paycheck. Being pressured by her bandmates and her father, Kaya heads back into the studio.

The next day, Kaya listens to the up-tempo track T forced her to rerecord. She thinks it’s overproduced bubble gum crap, not the indie rock sound that Crossing Coldwater is known for. But when she calls her father to complain, he reminds her that the president of the label loves it, which is all that matters.

At sound check before the big gig, bandmates Gunnar, Taylor and Manny are furious at Kaya as soon as she walks in. Taylor tosses a magazine her way that features a full-page story about how Kaya is supposedly leaving the band. Kaya says it’s all a misunderstanding stemming from the fact that they failed to show up at the press conference, but Gunnar says they weren’t even told about the press conference. When Manny mentions that he heard she’s moving out of the mansion, Kaya says she doesn’t want to live in a frat house anymore. As the argument escalates, Kaya turns and walks away.

To relieve her stress, Kaya flies down the street in her car. When she thinks she hears someone say her name, she looks in the rearview mirror. A young girl appears in the back seat, telling her to get her act together or face the consequences, causing Kaya to slam on the brakes. The figure vanishes, leaving Kaya all alone and in tears. At home later, the apparition appears again, telling Kaya she must regain control of her life or things will surely spiral out of control. When Kaya spots a tattoo on the girl’s wrist, she has a flashback to a car crash that left the girl dead on the side of the road.

Cut back to the club full of cheering fans and an empty stage. Where is Kaya? She’s in her hotel room, lounging around in her bathrobe watching a news report on how she could be the next Gwen Stefani if she’d just dump her band, Crossing Clearwater.

A few minutes later, Kaya rushes into the club, where the band tells her she must perform the up-tempo song that T produced because it’s going to be the first single off their new album. Her father says that the success of the song is going to shape her future. But Kaya wonders if he’s more concerned about his future.

Finally hitting the stage, Kaya begins performing the song as-is. But just one line into it she stops and tells the crowd that she wrote the song for someone she loved and if she can’t sing the song the way she wants then she won’t sing it at all. As she leaves the stage, the crowd is bewildered and the rest of the band is pissed.

TUESDAY

A Shot of Love with Tila Tequila

So the remaining guys and girls move into the house with Tila. Everyone has to sleep in a GIANT bed together. That spells trouble. What we get for the majority of this episode is some drinking, some flirting, and some trash talking. So just the usual.

Here are the major events of this week. Ashley, a guy, is crazy and kisses Michael B, Vanessa fell on her head trying to be a stripper, and Steven and Rebecca “mess around” with each other at night. Domenico runs and tells Tila. Tila confronts them both. Rebecca sells herself out by telling Tila that she kissed Brandi. Tila had no idea that happened. Rebecca and Steven swear nothing happened. Some people are lying.

Tila also got to know Dani more, who is not Tila’s kind of lesbian at all, but Tila actually likes her more now. But it’s time for five more people to go home this week. They are Rebecca, Rob, Krystal, Alex, and Eric.

Everyone was shocked that Steven was still in the competition. Domenico and Brandi are still in as well. So basically Tila likes drama. She kept everyone that causes drama, except for Rebecca, and got rid of people who didn’t get enough camera time because they didn’t do anything dramatic. Tila didn’t trust Rebecca anymore, which is why she is gone. That shouldn’t be any surprise, though. Judging by this show right now, Tila will probably pick someone lame and dramatic just to make this show interesting and that’s not right at all. But I see it coming from a mile away!

WEDNESDAY

The Real World: Sydney

Dunbar needs to relieve some stress. Good thing his girlfiend from home, Julie, is coming to visit him. Before that he and Parisa get into a screaming match over dirty dishes. Issac believes that they are really arguing over sexual tension and Parisa liking Dunbar and Dunbar liking his girlfriend more.

Julie arrives and Dunbar makes out with her for the rest of the episode. They get to “spoon” and “fork”. Trisha thinks Dunbar should apologize to Parisa for yelling at her like he did, but he won’t do it.

Meanwhile, Shauvon has to decide if she is going home or not. He boyfriend doesn’t like drinking and doesn’t like her partying. Oh good lord, don’t do it Shauvon! If you like to drink, don’t get back with him because you think you love him. He will only attempt to change you and you can’t change unless you want to. From what I have seen on this show, you can’t change. So stay in Aussie land!

Apparently the roommates all have to eat at various places for their job. They have to judge the food as their assignment. This just causes more problems between Parisa and Dunbar. They fight like an old married couple in front of Julie. Julie gives Dunbar a slight “burn” as she agrees with Parisa. He can be mean sometimes and violent. Parisa is gloating. Kelly Anne respects Julie, if she can put up with Dunbar’s crap.

Julie has to leave, though, and it’s back to more yelling between Dunbar and Parisa. They blame the other person on not getting a receipt from where they ate. Parisa then tells their boss that she feels threatened by Dunbar after she yelled at her in an aggressive manner. They both try to make each other look good in front of their boss. Apparently they will just have a “working relationship” now. And that’s all folks! Good lord, I guess they really are dragging this “who is leaving the house” thing out. Maybe it was just a rumor.

Pageant Place

We pick back up with where we left last week. Katie’s retarded boyfriend didn’t like her doing a sexy shoot with a male model. Katie is leaving a message on Josh’s phone wanting to talk about things, but it will have to wait as there’s always business to attend to.

We head over to the Miss Universe Offices where Tara is talking to Esther, a Miss Universe rep. Katie, Rachel and Riyo show up and Esther tells Rachel that she and Katie are going to head down to Turks and Caicos to help out with a pageant. Rachel is actually going to be a judge but Katie will be going down just to represent the organization. Katie is starting to feel like she’s playing second fiddle to Rachel, but she keeps it to herself. Riyo won’t be traveling with them though; instead she’s going to Indonesia to appear at the Miss Indonesia pageant.

Now back to the drama at home. Katie repeatedly burps as loud as she can. After the second belch Rachel gives her a, “Oh, come on!” But Katie just shrugs it off. It becomes clear that both Rachel and Riyo are getting a little tired of Katie’s immaturity. That night Riyo invites Roston and Katie out to dinner with her and her Japanese sponsors. Riyo’s sponsors are all older men and very proper. Roston warns Katie to be on her best behavior and there will be absolutely no burping! At dinner Katie does her best to be polite and respectful but it’s very awkward, and, of course, she accidentally lets out a huge burp after some soup, shocking all the sponsors.

Even though Katie and Rachel seem to be having their problems Tara and Riyo are doing just fine. Tara comes over to help Riyo pack for Indonesia and they have a nice heart to heart where Tara tells Riyo she knows how hard it is to live in a strange place with no family but she will always be able to count on her for help.

Rachel, Katie and Esther arrive in Turks and Caicos. In the evening, when the girls are on their way to the pageant, Katie is completely preoccupied with her phone, messaging Josh nonstop. After they get to the pageant and Katie will still not put the phone away, Esther sits her down to tell her, “Officially, the phone is gone!” The rest of the night goes smoothly, but Katie continues to sneak a text in here and there.

In the morning Katie is talking on the phone with Josh. Talking quickly turns into a fight and it’s clear Josh is very upset that Katie stopped responding to his messages the night before. Katie thinks it’s crazy for him to demand that he always be able to reach her. The phone call does not end well. Back in New York a delivery guy shows up with a ton of roses. Rachel, for some reason, thinks they are for her until Katie finds the card and realizes they are from Josh. Katie seems to instantly forget why she was mad at Josh in the first place. She calls him right away but has to leave a message. It would appear that flowers are enough to patch things up between them.

Katie finally reaches her breaking point and confronts Rachel, telling her that all the little, snappy comments are very rude and they hurt her feelings. Rachel doesn’t apologize but says she wasn’t intending to hurt Katie’s feelings and Katie just needs to tell her when she feels this way. This isn’t really the answer Katie was looking for and they continue their argument for a while before they both head off to their rooms to get away from all the drama.

THURSDAY

Run’s House

It’s back for another season. This is one of the funniest MTV reality show ever thanks to Reverend Run and his crazy family. This season was filmed around May to start with. It’s right before summer and JoJo is graduating from high school.

Vanessa and Angela want to move back into Run’s house apparently. Angela has second thoughts, but then Vanessa gets an opportunity. Vanessa gets an extended role on the soap opera, Guiding Light, and she has to stay in New York for the summer. Angela doesn’t like that at all. But it’s one big “happy” family again.

Run surprises JoJo by getting him a new car, a BMW with his name in the seats. Diggy and Russy now want a reward as well. Diggy said he made honor roll so he should get something. Run says no. When he graduates, he will get something. JoJo feels bad for his younger brothers and goes out and buys them both a present, some big belt buckles. How nice.

It’s time for the usual closing of this show. Rev Run sits in the tub and writes in his journal on his Blackberry phone. He provides wisdom of the day dealing with what we saw in each episode. Good morning. Do you tend to spoil the ones you love? Rewarding achievements that are expected make the ultimate prize disrespected. Life is a marathon not a sprint, so pace yourself and enjoy the journey. God is love, Rev Run.

Making Menudo

For those who don’t know, Menudo is a classic “boy band” made up of young Hispanic boys. Music stars such as Ricky Martin and Mark Antony all got their start in Menudo. Now it’s time to pick the new Menudo and apparently that is a job for MTV. We have 15 boys who want to be in the group. Here is the breakdown:

J.G. – 13 years old from West Palm Beach, Florida
Jorge – 15 years old from Miami, Florida
Jose – 15 years old from Puerto Rico
Antony – 15 years old from Miami, Florida
Pena – 17 years old from Weston, Florida
Henry – 18 years old from New Jersey

Thomas – 16 years old from Dallas, TX
Hansel – 18 years old from Miami, Florida
Trevor – 14 years old from Tustin, California
J.C. – 17 years old from Colombia
Chris – 15 years old from Bronx, New York
Dennis – 19 years old from New York City, New York
Carlos – 17 years old from Chicago, Illinois
Monti – 18 years old from from Puerto Rico

They go through “music bootcamp” in Miami, Florida. Johnny Wright is on the scene to manage their musical careers and host this show. David Coury, the vocal coach and Anibal, the choreographer are along for the ride as well.

If you have watched any episode of Making the Band, especially the last season with all the guy band, you will know what happens next in this episode of this show. Johnny Wright and crew fill Diddy and his crew’s shoes. They put all the boys through lots of practice in attempt to “break them” and make them better in the end. Meanwhile, though, the boys have hormones blazing as they like to talk to girls.

The only real major development between the guys is that J.G. is an outcast. He is only 13 and the others consider him immature and they can relate to him. Johnny Wright also tells a few guys that they don’t have the right “look” for Menudo. He says they are only average looking guys. Soon the boys realize that it’s not all about talent, it’s about having the “Menudo look”.

Monti, Antony, and J.G. all perform and Johnny only gives them a 5 out of 10 for that performance. But Monti somehow impresses Johnny enough to give him the first spot in the new Menudo. That doesn’t mean that spot in set in stone, though. Johnny can take Monti out of that spot at any time, if he slacks up at all. Johnny lets Antony back into the mix with the other guys competing for the four other spots. However, J.G. is done with this show. He gets cut first! That’s all that needs to be said about this show right now.

Sir Linksalot: Reality Television

We say goodbye to two shows this week. You know what that means? Three more shows are making their debut next week. That math does still work out, by the way. But before we get there, we have to break down what happened this week. So get out your mixing sticks and join me for another wild ride down the MTV highway…

MONDAY

The Hills

Lauren recaps recent events to Whitney. Let see, Brody kissed her (**Insert great Lauren facial expression here**), and she got into a fight with Audrina. Lauren even gives us a “random” as Jen Bunney sends her a text message. Apparently she has something to tell Lauren.

Lauren talks to Audrina. Lauren says she is stubborn and doesn’t like to admit when she is wrong. She also admits that she is still “broken” from last year with the Heidi/Spencer situation and doesn’t want to see someone get hurt like that again. Hence, why she is acting this way with Audrina and Justin. Lauren tells Audrina that she will just “shut up” and let Audrina live her life basically.

For the record, Lo, Whitney, and Audrina are all surprised that Lauren is going to talk to Jen. Jen tells Lauren that Heidi said that Brody started the rumors of the sex tape between Lauren and Jason. Lauren doesn’t believe that to be true, though. Audrina doesn’t believe Brody would start the rumors either.

Heidi’s boss, Brent, chews her out for what happened with Elodie. She should have told someone who she had filling in for her. He gives her the “don’t let happen again” speech and that’s that. Spencer gives Heidi some advice. “You can’t depend on anyone.” He was referring to Elodie, but some may twist it and apply that statement to Spencer. Who knows if Heidi was smart enough to do that herself.

Audrina tells Justin what Lauren told her. Audrina is going to do what she wants to do and Lauren is not going to butt in anymore. Justin wants everything to be “mellow”. That means no drama! Lauren has dinner with Brody. Lauren wants to know the truth from him. Brody finally looks her in the eyes and says that Spencer and Heidi were the ones to spread the rumors. He knows that for a fact!

Jen tells Heidi about her conversation with Lauren. She then tells Heidi that Brody told Lauren that Heidi and Spencer started the rumors. Heidi gets all defensive when Jen even suggests that Spencer might have started it. Heidi then runs off to tell Spencer what happened. Someone is lying, and it is probably more than one person. But does it really matter? Would it change anything if the truth came out? People are going to believe what they want to believe to justify why they like or don’t like certain people. If the sex tape rumor get resolved, they will just find something else to fight about. That’s the reality of these kids living in The Hills.

Life of Ryan

It’s the season finale of the Life of Ryan. I should mention here that they had a “dating contest” for Ryan the other night. One girl won the chance to come hang out with Ryan and all of his friends. Hmm, that seems a little odd to be the only girl in a group of all guys, but she will be next to Ryan so I’m sure that is all she cares about.

Anyways on to this final episode. It’s sad when Ryan’s parents have more drama than Ryan. Basically, Ryan’s dad is mad that Ryan’s mom is dating “trash” he says. Of course, he is doing the same thing and Ryan is in the middle of it.

This leads to Ryan telling his mom that he wants to move out. His mom doesn’t like that idea. She thinks he will just party it up. Ryan’s agent gives him advice on the house thing. He tells him the same thing his mom told him. Ryan takes his advice more to heart, though, since he is unbiased.

Ryan takes time to get dressed up in a weird outfit and shoot a segment for Tony Hawk’s new videogame. It’s Ryan, Tony, Bam, and another skater dressed as pigeons. It’s REALLY weird. Ryan is dreading telling his youngest brother, Kane, that he is moving out.

Ryan, his mom, and agent go looking for houses. They eventually find one. Ryan finally tells his dad about him getting his own house. His dad is a little pissed that Ryan didn’t include him. His dad then lectures him about the finances of buying a house. Somehow I think that’s what he does for a living. Ryan’s dad is “so over it” by the way. Ryan’s dad is so lame and juvenile. He tries too hard to act cool and younger than he actually is.

Ryan finally tells Kane that he is moving out. He doesn’t like it at all. He says he is going to miss Ryan, etc. Kane can come over anytime he wants, though. It wouldn’t be a reality show set in California without a bonfire. Ryan and his friends have one and he tells them that he put an offer down for a house. The summer is over and so is this show, at least for now. I’m sure they will probably have another season to see what crazy things happen in his new house, but that’s all for now.

TUESDAY

A Shot of Love with Tila Tequila

So Tila dropped the bomb on everyone at the end of last week’s episode. Now it’s time for their reactions. The girls were more pissed off by the guys being there than the guys were. That should be pretty obvious. There is a reason why most of these girls are lesbians. That reason is they don’t like men at all. Lala doesn’t like this whole thing at all. She looks to be ready to go home and eventually does.

So the majority of this episode goes like this. The guys try to talk to the girls and the girls assume they are hitting on them and they get pissed off! The girls really feel betrayed by Tila. The guys are just being guys. Lots of arguing happens. The girls seem ready to gang up on the guys and get rid of them first. Brandi throws Domenico under the bus. Meanwhile, Marcus makes his case to Tila. Ashley yells to everyone that he hates Marcus. Marcus, Ashley, and Domenico are the most annoying guys of the bunch, by the way. This results in Marcus and Ashley getting into a fight. They are both idiots, but at least they are somewhat interesting.

Tila runs off crying. She is putting herself out there for the first time and it’s a lot to go through with everyone fighting around her. Rebecca is her shoulder to cry on. The rest of the guys don’t like the fight between Ashley and Marcus since it gives them a bad name as well. More of the girls saying “we understand more than the guys”, and more of the guys saying that “they are cool” with Tila being a bi-sexual.

Apparently Ashley had a few girlfriends that ended up being lesbians. All of the guys make their case to the girls that they have no problem with lesbians. So basically they are kissing ass. Vanessa’s plan is to use her “assets” to lure the guys in and away from Tila. It seems to be working so far.

Now it’s time for some “fun”. Tila makes the guys were high heels and strut their stuff on the red carpet. The guys really seem to be enjoying that way too much. Tila makes the girls do real push-ups. They have to do 20. That’s really not hard. Marcus then gives a playful smack on Sara’s ass. Sara says he grabbed it, but that’s a lie. Now everyone jumps into some foam and attempts to wrestle around in it and grab three chips at the bottom. A chip meant you got “alone time” with Tila. Eric, Eddie, and Rebecca won that right.

It’s finally time for Tila to send some people home. Lala already decided to go home, so she is out. But Tila eliminates Eddie, because he’s an older virgin, Grace, simply because she is not her type, Steffanie, since she didn’t know anything about her, and Marcus. Not a big surprise, since he did cause a lot of drama but he did have an interesting personality. Dumb Ashley is still there, though. The 17 remaining people will move into the house with Tila. That should be fun.

WEDNESDAY

The Real World: Sydney

It has been building up to this. The catfight between Parisa and Trisha continues and takes a turn on the wild side. They yell at each other and Shauvon steps in between them to try and calm down the situation. Blah, blah, blah, can we get to the good stuff already? Dunbar tells Parisa that every guy feels the same way about Trisha that she does.

Trisha then wants Dunbar to tell her the truth. He won’t say anything really. He just wants to stay out of everything. That was funny, especially Trisha’s face when Dunbar wouldn’t say anything. Cohutta informs Trisha that she kissed Alex. Trisha doesn’t remember that. Cohutta said probably because she was too drunk to remember. Wow, Trisha is a big liar. She told a completely different story in an interview recently.

Now get this. The next day we get the usual “Real World” storyline meaning big drunken fights one night and the next morning everything is fine when everyone is sober. Same goes for Trisha and Parisa here. Meanwhile, Shauvon flirts with random guys to not think about her ex-boyfriend. We get a montage of Shauvon being a hypocrite just like Trisha. She loves her ex, but kisses other guys. Parisa is not the only one confused by this. Shauvon is so confused and cries as she writes her ex an e-mail telling him what she has done, etc.

Trisha doesn’t know what to do about Jarod. She asks everyone when she should tell him what she has done in Aussie land. It should be soon and on the phone before he plans to visit her in Australia. She does that and he doesn’t like the whole situation, but seems willing to move on perhaps. Parisa and Trisha sure can’t, though. Enough talk of Alex. More blah, blah, blah from these girls. Trisha is so childish. Parisa is getting pissed.

Parisa apologizes to the guys for the yelling. Parisa says that Trisha is not her mother, so she needs to shut up and not tell her what to do. Issac says girls and guys fight over silly things, but guys just punch each other and then the argument is over. Girls just hold grudges forever. In the mean time, Shauvon gets an e-mail back from her ex. Apparently she wants to try things again, but her ex still wants to control her. He says she has to pick between him and staying in Australia on The Real World. We are left with that to end this episode.

So is anyone going home or are they just teasing us? I wish Trisha would just hit Parisa and get sent home. Maybe Shauvon will decide to leave as well. They are quickly becoming annoying by acting like hypocrites. Something needs to happen soon, because I don’t think I can take the same BS each week!

Pageant Place

Tara enters the house and hangs out with Rachel and Riyo. They discuss Tara’s nine tattoos. Meanwhile, Katie and her boyfriend hang out. Katie finally comes home and there should be a small explosion. They would like for us to believe it’s like World War III, but it’s really not. Just stupid girl catfight stuff. See above with The Real World.

So the rest of this episode resembles any episode of The Hills or The Real World. Katie’s boyfriend seems to be the jealous type who can be an ass at times. Reminds me of Spencer. That hurts since his name is Josh, but it’s true. He doesn’t like her modeling with some other male model. DRAMA!

Also, there is still lots of tension between Tara and Katie for obvious reasons and Rachel and Tara as well, since Rachel doesn’t want to be overshadowed by the former Miss USA. Just the typical girl stuff.

In the end, this show is looking to really annoy me than entertain me. We have seen all of this before in other MTV shows. The only difference is the fact that these are all pageant winners. But really they are just girls that act just as immature. I will hang in there for the time being, though.

THURSDAY

Celebrity Rap Superstar

This show finally ends. It’s Shar Jackson vs. Kendra Wilkinson in the finals. It’s the “rapper” vs. the “ass shaker”. Shar should win, but Kendra can sure shake what her mama gave her so she might pull it out. Lets see what happens as these two “rap” their hearts out one last time hopefully.

- Kendra and Shar tag team to rap “It Takes Two” to start us off. Not that bad.

- Jamal, Jason, and Efren come back to team up on “Shake Ya Tailfeathers”. Yep, they still suck.

- Sebastian goes solo on “Let the Boys Be Boys”.

- Shar and Kendra come back with help from Countess and Perez to rap “Whatta Man”.

- Finally some good rapping as the mentors show off their professional skills.

- Kendra is alone to rap “Blow The Whistle” once again. That’s her favorite from the season.

- Shar raps her favorite of the season “Get Ya Freak On”.

- The winner is finally announced and it’s Shar Jackson! So rapping wins out! No surprise there. Hopefully we won’t be seeing this again. Nice experiment, but a total trainwreck!

Sir Linksalot: Reality Television

The Hills took a week off this week to “catch” us up. But have no fear, we do add TWO new shows to our weekly MTV viewing schedule this week. That makes 6 shows total. So be sure to check out all of your old favorites and your possible new favorites, featuring some bi-sexual activity and pageant queens. Lets mix things up…

MONDAY

The Hills

Welcome to Halftime! That’s right we are halfway through the third season of this show and this week MTV presented “The Hills: Season Three Cram Session”. Basically, a fancy way to call this a “recap episode”. They run down all of what has happened in this season so far. They do throw in some “deleted scenes” throughout this episode. But nothing really to blog about. Finally, they give us a teaser of what is to come. I won’t go in-depth on this either, so lets move on…

Life of Ryan

This week is the next stop in the “Dew Action Sports Tour”. It’s a series of five events and Ryan wants to do well in them. Two issues with that. One his friend Casey wants to be on “Team Ryan”. He wants to have a job and his mom makes him assistant to the assistant. Ryan also has to deal with his dad either coming or not coming and if he does come, will he leave early?

The job with Casey doesn’t work out so well. Casey gets pissed off when Ryan actually wants him to “assist”. Never hire your friends. That’s rule #1. Ryan then basically fires Casey. He wants to be friends more than anything else.

Ryan talks to his dad and tries to smooth things over with him. He does show up in Portland for the next skating event. He even tries to comfort him when Ryan hurts himself. See below. Ryan is not in the mood, though. In the end, Ryan’s dad tries to tell Ryan that he is just trying to be honest with Ryan and help him. Not just pat him on the back.

As for Ryan’s skating competition, he only finished in second place. The main reason was because he pretty much hurt his arm during the run. It is somewhat broken. Ryan has to be in a cast for two weeks. Ryan is disappointed in himself, but he is still in the overall points lead.

TUESDAY

A Shot of Love with Tila Tequila

MTV has been a first to do a lot of things, including being the first to have a reality television show. Now MTV is swarming with them. There are a countless number of them introduced each year. This time MTV decided to be the first to give the world a “bi-sexual dating show”. In a way in makes sense, since today it’s not all about being either heterosexual or homosexual. Being bi-sexual is more common than many may think, especially among the young 18-34 demographic that MTV targets.

The person everyone wants to be with on this show is Tila Tequila, whose real name is Tila Nguyen. Tila is 26 years old and is a model, who turned into a “celebrity” after the launch of her popular MySpace page. She was Playboy’s Cyber Girl of the week for April 22, 2002, consequently winning the title of the first Asian Cyber Girl of the Month. That led to her own website and countless magazine covers including Maxim Magazine. She also is a independent musician, who releases her music on iTunes mainly. Oh, did I mention she is also bi-sexual.

This dating show is a little different. Tila will have to pick one person out of 32 possible candidates to be the “love of her life”. There are 16 straight guys and 16 lesbians to pick from. Which side will Tila chose? Only time will tell, but lets run down the contestants.

Tila gets to know the guys first. They all have to give her a gift. They are all pretty interesting in their own way. The first bit drama happens between some unique characters. Domenico is from Italy. Marcus has a REALLY weird laugh. Ashley is pretty much country. Domenico asks the other guys if they would sleep with a guy for 10 million dollars. Marcus says Americans don’t do that. Marcus talks bad about Domenico with Tila. Ashley doesn’t like that and calls him out on it. They almost fight, but Tila comes out to break things up. Tila says that’s a “typical guy thing”. Too much testosterone going on there. Tila wastes no time as she eliminates 5 guys right away. They areBen, Rami, Michael R., Lance, and Greg.

Now it’s the ladies’ turn with Tila. Another interesting mix of lesbians. Some are more “butch” than others. Keasha is the drunk girl of the group. She likes to say “Hey girl, HEY!”. Yes, it does get annoying. Meanwhile, Tila makes out with various women. She then makes them dress up in outfits and try to pick her up basically. Tila likes “lipstick lesbians” apparently. The first five girls cut here are Scout, Ellie, Chaos, Brenda, and Keasha. Thank god, Keasha was a trainwreck!

Now it’s time for the bomb to be dropped. The girls and guys meet for the first time and find out the whole truth about this dating show. Both groups are pretty shocked to learn that Tila is bi-sexual and that they are all competing for Tila’s affections. We won’t get their exact reactions until next week, though. So stick around…

WEDNESDAY

The Real World: Sydney

Tick, tock, someone’s time is about to be up in this house. It all goes back to a silly girl fight between Parisa and Trisha over Alex. Trisha has a boyfriend, but wants to make out with other guys. Parisa thinks Alex is free game. Apparently Shauvon is on Trisha’s side. She calls Parisa shady and she can’t trust her. Now this is confusing so stay with me. Parisa tells Dunbar what is going on. Kelly Anne says Dunbar had no idea before Parisa told him. So now Shauvon is mad since Parisa basically did the same thing she did. Parisa got mad that Shauvon told Trisha about Parisa and Alex, and told Parisa about Trisha and Alex as well. So now Parisa is doing the same thing apparently. My head is spinning so I will move on.

Basically, Shauvon has grown to be close with Trisha. Must be because they are blonde. Meanwhile, Parisa “drunk dials” Alex. Trisha joins in the conversation and apparently Alex likes Trisha more and feels bad for kissing Parisa, etc. Parisa tells him to not feel sorry for him. She is going to be okay. Alex then tells a different story to Parisa. So a bunch of people are lying or perhaps just Trisha. The best part of that was Cohutta and Kelly Anne all decked out in cowboy hats walking by with their drunk selves. I want to see more of that!

Shauvon starts talking smack to Parisa. Parisa likes the boys more than girls apparently. Now Shauvon starts yelling “****” this and “****” that. Cohutta and Issac jump in to break things up. They find this all funny. Issac says Shauvon is a big fan of getting drunk and acting like a fool basically. Cohutta starts to argue back with Shauvon, but then stops because he realizes he looks stupid and she is not worth the time. The best thing is about this is it started over a freakin’ grilled cheese sandwhich. Shauvon is laugh-out-loud funny when she says that “real men don’t talk smack to real women”. That’s true, but she is not a woman at all. She is an immature little girl still. They throw drinks and food at each other. Cohutta then yells at the grilled cheese sandwich. So Shauvon yells out some more curse words to Cohutta. Yep, another example of a “real woman”. HA!

Parisa and Shauvon talk. Parisa says that a true friend wouldn’t yell at another friend like that. Shauvon thinks Parisa is not listening to her. Blah, blah, blah. Alex, Parisa, and Trisha all bring the drama to the club. Alex finally leaves, because he is sick and tired of being in the middle of drama. Meanwhile, Parisa gets sick outside of the club. Trisha tries to act like a friend now and help her, but Parisa wants none of it.

When everyone gets home, the real fireworks begin. Parisa throws up everywhere and finally tells Trisha off. Nothing but the truth, of course, but sometimes the truth hurts. Parisa yells curse words at her as we get another freakin’ “to be continued…”! Just get it over with! I want to see the real action. Stop teasing! Hopefully we won’t be disappointed next week.

Pageant Place

Donald Trump introduces us to this show. He holds a lot of beauty pageants. And the winners of those pageants get to live in some apartment that he gives them. Two girls are living in this apartment right now. We have Miss Teen USA 2006, Katie Blair. She was also friends with the 2005 winner, Tara Conner, who was part of the big “partying too hard” controversy. There is bad blood between them. We then have the reining Miss USA, Rachel Smith. She is the “anti-Tara Conner”. The newest winner to live in the apartment is Riyo Mori from Japan. She beat Rachel for Miss Universe this year.

Basically, this is three beauty pageant winners living in the same house together. They all have a history with each other as well. Should be catty fun to the max! Especially since Trump wants Tara Conner to come back to work for the Miss Universe organization.

Here is what happened in this episode. Riyo forgets her ID and her passport. But she still makes it on the plane by showing her “Miss Universe” stash. Must be nice. We get to see Rachel’s fall 14 million times during the Miss Universe competition. Katie totally lies and says she didn’t make out with Tara. I can GUARANTEE you that they did, especially since they were probably drunk. I say for girls of that age, it’s probably 7 out of 10 who have kissed other girls when they were drunk. I’m confident in that! By the way, there is nothing wrong with that.

Tara walks onto the show. She explains that Katie and her don’t like each, because Katie thought Tara was after her boyfriend, Josh. Good name first off, but this Josh is nothing to fight over. I was going to try and explain what he looks like, but I can’t. He could be a cheesy 1970s Italian bookie, though. But we will save the meeting of the minds between Tara and Katie for the next episode.

As for the show overall, I suppose it’s decent. Not as bad as I thought. It’s like The Real World and The Apprentice mixed together, except not really. It’s not really that original, so you probably won’t be seeing anything you haven’t seen before. But I suppose the dynamic of beauty queens of this stature living together could be interesting. We will see, though.

THURSDAY

Celebrity Rap Superstar

We get to find out who goes home right away from the “final three”. Shar Jackson is the first one to make it to the finals. It’s between Kendra and Sebastion now. Shar will face off with Kendra. Sebastion is going home! I guess sex appeal won out there. Shar and Kendra sing three songs tonight. Just like American Idol. Anyways here is how the finals went down:

Kendra Wilkinson raps “Hot in Herre” by Nelly first. Her second song was “Baby Got Back”. America picked that song, by the way. Her final song was called “Epiphany”, an original track. She still can’t rap that well. She can shake her ass, though. It got her this far, but will she be able to win based on that alone? More than likely.

Shar Jackson raps “Get Ur Freak On” by Missy Elliot first. Then America wants her to rap “Bust A Move”. Her final original track was called “Let It Blow”. She can definitely rap, so if she doesn’t win then America really like ass shaking better than rapping.

Sir Linksalot: Reality Television

Birthday parties, new relationships, saying goodbye, love triangles, angry people, and even more rapping occurred this past week. It’s still the usual mix, but we do lose one show this week. That means a change is going to come. But for now, lets mix things up a bit…

MONDAY

The Hills

Brody is having his big birthday party in Las Vegas. For some reason, Lauren wants to surprise him by coming. Lo, Audrina, and Justin come along as well. Let the fun and awkwardness begin. Once they all arrive and meet up with Brody and his crew, Justin continues to play “outsider” to the group.

Meanwhile, Spencer and his stupid goat beard continue to fight with Heidi about the wedding details. Seriously, what the hell is on his chin? That is peach fuzz to the max! Anyways apparently their one year anniversary is coming up. She also has a job assignment due on the same night. Could be trouble.

Elodie is still pissed that Heidi got the job over her. She is now going to quit. Now she is just being a whiny, little girl. Girls sure do know how to hold a grudge. Remember that job assignment Heidi had. Well she tries to throw it onto Elodie. Elodie agrees. Huh? I thought she was quitting. Girls can be so “fake” sometimes. That conversation was ridiculous.

Time to party and Brody and Lauren get a little too close for me. Brody is 24, by the way. Brody says he doesn’t want drama. So since Spencer “thrives on drama”, he is going to separate himself from him. Justin continues to not talk to Lauren or Lo for some reason. Brody’s friend, Frankie, thinks Brody and Lauren should be a couple again since Spencer, Heidi, and Jason are all out of the picture. Lo and Audrina think that’s a good idea as well.

More scandalous behavior as Brody’s birthday party continues. Lo makes out with some guy. I think it might have been Frankie. Brody wants his birthday kiss and Lauren gives him one. Brody is doing that “stupid drunk smirking white boy pointing at girls” dance that I like to do myself. Hey, it works!

A little more drama before we leave this episode. Lo and Lauren tell Audrina that Justin won’t talk to them. She pulls the “Heidi card” and says she won’t talk to Justin, since that will make them happy. Audrina says she is done and Lauren leaves. And we didn’t really need that. Brody tries to “mediate things” and resolve the Audrina/Lauren conflict. I’m actually on Brody’s side here. They are NOT arguing, they are discussing. There is a difference Lauren! Enough with the kissing already, though!

Oh wait, the whole Elodie conversation made sense. It seems that she completely no-shows the event and burns Heidi. Heidi has to cut her dinner short and Spencer is not too happy. That was funny actually.

Life of Ryan

Ryan’s mom tells him and his brother that she is dating someone. His name is Bruce. She wants to introduce him to them. Ryan is still having a hard time with his dad having a new girlfriend. Now hearing that his mom has a new boyfriend. He doesn’t really like the idea of that, but he knows his mom has to move on as well.

Ryan then goes over and talks to Tony. He tries to straighten out the whole thing with him talking to Julia’s friend and him basically ruining any relationship Ryan and Julia might have had. Tony still doesn’t know what he is talking about.

Ryan meets his mom’s date and he seems pretty nice. But she returns home late from her date. Ryan yells at her for missing curfew. Now here comes the drama with Julia. Ryan likes to whine a lot. Julia says Ryan is mean and hangs up on him. That pisses Ryan off and he runs to his mom and wants to talk to her. When she can’t talk to him right then, he gets made at her. He finally does and basically he says he is done with Julia. Taylor, Ryan’s friend, thinks she is the type of girl that just wants attention. By the way, Ryan has A TON of Red Bull in his garage. Must be a sponser.

Ryan finally goes and talks to Julia about everything. Julia seems like nothing has happened. Ryan finally tells Julia that he doesn’t think it will work out. Julia seems fine by that. No hard feelings. Another one bites the dust! But it’s “bros before hoes”, right? Ryan goes and patches things with Tony. He says that Tony was right about everything. All is good now. Oh, and his mom gets flowers from Bruce the next day. Ryan likes that as well.

WEDNESDAY

The Real World: Sydney

Trisha is dumb. At least she is naive. She’s 19, but yet believes that she will be with her boyfriend back home, Jarod, for the rest of her life. Yet she still wants to “flirt” a.k.a. “be just friends” with other cute guys. Alex, an Aussie guy finds himself in a “triangle”. Trisha likes to hang out with him. Parisa also wants to hang out with him. Alex even writes Parisa a letter and Trisha a poem. He’s a “playa from down under”. Parisa believes she has the edge, since Trisha has a boyfriend.

Meanwhile, Cohutta and Kelly Anne continue their strange relationship. Two Aussie guys fight over Kelly Anne in a club. Cohutta comes to her aid. He drags her away and “saves her”. He says she needs a man, not a boy. He is also her knight in shiny armor and there will be a happy ending. Kelly gets a call from her friend from home and apparently her “on and off again” boyfriend was seen with another girl. That is a dumb move by her boyfriend! Maybe Kelly Anne will learn her lesson. That’s doubtful, though. Cohutta tries to talk sense into her.

Trisha gets even more juvenile. She invites more of her “Aussie friends” to try and make Alex jealous. That gives Parisa the chance to make out with Alex. Trisha continues to speak nothing but trash. She says girls are like dogs basically. When a dog pees on something that is their territory. When I girl hangs out with a guy first, that is her guy for as long as she wants him. Right, but Trisha is “hanging out” with every single guy she meets. She can’t have them all! Oh good lord, Shauvon agrees with Trisha. Must be the bleach in their hair.

Issac is always the voice of reason inside this house. He basically calls out Trisha. She has a boyfriend! HAHA! The two Aussie guys, Ky and Alex, say Shauvon and Trisha are like a 6 or 7 on the scale of 1-10! The girls are so drunk! Shauvon is pissed now. “Um, 6 is barely above average! How dare you!” That is basically want Shauvon said. Parisa laughs at Shauvon for why she got mad last night. IT DOESN’T MATTER! It seems Shauvon can’t understand that. By the way, though. On looks she could be a 9 or 10, but attitude like that marks her down a little bit. So that “ranking” might be accurate.

Issac says that Alex goes after any drunk girl. He says that he might even go after Cohutta if he got drunk enough! HA! Let the fighting begin! Alex makes out with Parisa AND Trisha! Shauvon pokes the fire and tells Parisa about Trisha and Alex. Parisa doesn’t seem to care that much since she makes out with Alex again. So they will save the real drama until next week. Someone may be going home! Yay!

Newport Beach: The Real Orange County

It’s time to say goodbye to this season of Newport Harbor a.k.a. Laguna Beach 4. Everyone prepares to leave Newport and go to college or at least move away from their parents. Clay tells Grant that he wants to try and make things work out, even though Chrissy is moving soon.

Allie tells Samantha that she will always consider Chase as the “guy that got away”. Apparently all girls have that one guy that could have worked out, but didn’t for various reasons. Very interesting. Chase has his own apartment now. He is staying in Newport. He says he won’t go back to any high school dances with Taylor, but then Taylor brings up the idea that she might have to go with some other guys then. The look on his face is priceless.

Chrissy first says her goodbyes to Sasha. They will stay best friends forever. Now it’s time for Clay. Clay gets all romantic and stuff. He tells Chrissy he carved their initials into the tree over at the bonfire. It will be there forever! Chase and Allie talk and Allie finally gives him their prom pictures. They hug goodbye and then they give each other “the look”. You know, the look of whether they should kiss or just look into each other’s eyes. They just look at each other. I know that look quite well actually.

More tears from Clay and Chrissy as they finish their final boat ride around the harbor. They kiss and wave goodbye. Allie says bye to her parents. She’s only going to Europe! But mom cries because she will come back and then have to leave again for college. Moms are never ready for their babies to leave. Now it’s Chrissy’s time to leave her parents and her dog. Basically just repeat what you just heard with Allie’s parents.

Clay is bummed, but Grant comes by in a boat with two girls and Taylor for some reason. That might cheer him up. Allie and Samantha leave us with some more “thoughts”. But it’s only fitting that we leave this season with Chrissy in the car thinking back to all that has happened. I like to call this the “Lauren montage”. Find out more about what happens to these kids after this episode on MTV.com, of course! Overall, this was a decent enough season. Still not as good as the first season of Laguna Beach, but it was better than the third season of Laguna Beach.

THURSDAY

Celebrity Rap Superstar

This week the “celebs” have to perform nothing but “fast rap” songs. Twista is a guest judge. He is the fastest rapper alive, by the way. So this will be tough. Here is a quick rundown of what happened on this episode:

- Shar Jackson raps “Overnight Celebrity”. She is definitely the favorite to win this whole thing. She dod quite well.

- Kendra Wilkinson raps “What’s Your Fantasy” by Ludacris. She goes the “sexy” route again. It’s a sex song and she is a school girl outfit. She runs out of breath, but shakes her ass around.

- Sebastian Back rap “B.O.B.” by Outkast. Not too bad actually.

- Perez Hilton rap “Still Not a Playa” by Big Pun. It was just okay. That’s probably why is going home this week! He also didn’t rap as fast as the other three. That hurt him as well.

- The final three is Shar, Sebastian, and Kendra. My money is still on Shar.

Sir Linksalot: Reality Television

The same old drama with a twist this week. We’ve got engagement parties, skating competitions, graduation day, photo shoots, talking behind people’s backs, and “celebs” acting like idiots all this week. But what else would you expect on MTV? This is the “Mix”, so lets shake things up a bit…

MONDAY

The Hills

Jason drops the bomb on Lauren. Not a huge surprise to anyone who is a fan of this show, since they have been hyping this from the beginning. Jason has a girlfriend named Tasha and he wants Lauren to meet her. Lauren has some great facial expressions during this conversation. She gives in and says yes.

Whitney and Lauren have a big photo shoot for the band, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. It’s up to Whitney to make this go through without any problems. The only problem with that is the the band wants Whitney, Lauren, and Audrina to come hang out with them the night before the photo shoot and do shots! They do a melody of shots including Jager and various combinations of that. Not good at all girls! During the photo shoot, one of the band members is a “diva” and doesn’t want to wear the jeans that Whitney picked out. Whitney later gets an “ass chewing” from her boss. She’s not happy with Whitney.

Meanwhile, Heidi goes wedding dress shopping. Jen thinks Heidi shouldn’t really get married right now. She thinks she is too young. Heidi may be having doubts as well after seeing how uninterested Spencer is in the wedding planning. They also can’t decide on when they should have the wedding nor where it will be located. Oh yeah, Spencer hasn’t even told his parents about the marriage yet either. Nice!

Later, the REAL bomb gets dropped on Lauren at the party at Jason’s house. Jason is engaged to Tasha after knowing her for 7 months. Lauren seems upset. Tasha doesn’t seem to like Lauren and Lauren feels the same by the looks of it. Jason is just trying to play peacemaker. But it doesn’t really work that well.

Whitney and Lauren discuss work and the Jason thing. Basically, Lauren says she loves Jason but she is “so glad” that she isn’t Tasha right now. She doesn’t want to get married right now, and knows she could have easily been in her position. Smart move Lauren. Now as for the preview next week, I don’t like it. But that will have to wait until next week…

Life of Ryan

Ryan is going to the big X-Games competition this week. He really wants to win a gold medal, since he hasn’t won one in awhile. But the problem with that is his dad wants to bring his new girlfriend to the competition as well. Ryan doesn’t like that idea. So he tries to go and talk to his dad about it. His dad tries to assure Ryan that he will never “move on” from his kids. He may have a new girlfriend, but they will always be his boys.

Taylor, Ryan’s friend, tries to tell Ryan exactly what his dad said before he said it to Ryan. Ryan’s dad’s girlfriend just wants to be accepted by Ryan. So they are just going to have to work things out.

Meanwhile, Ryan invites all of his friends to X-Games, including his new girl “friend”, Julia. Ryan’s agent doesn’t like that idea at all. He wants Ryan to be focused on the competition. The problem with that is Julia says that Tony told one of her friends that Ryan is “just going from girl to girl and she is just another girl”. That upsets Ryan and when he confronts Tony about it, he says he has no idea what he is talking about. As a result, Julia doesn’t go to X-Games.

Time for X-Games and Ryan’s whole family and friends are there. Ryan’s dad encourages him before he skates. But it doesn’t really help as Ryan falls and hurts his finger. That affects the rest of his run, but he does qualify for the finals. His dad wasn’t so sure about him qualifyin and tells Ryan just that. aRyan can’t believe that his dad said that when he knew Ryan was already worried about failing.

On the final day of the competition, Ryan’s dad says he is sick and doesn’t show up for the competition. Ryan is pissed and that really hurts his final run. He finishes in fourth place, which is not bad since that’s “Top 4 in the World”. His friends discuss the situation with his dad before we end this week.

WEDNESDAY

The Real World: Sydney

The roommates get their jobs. They work at Contiki, a travel company. They have to create a travel trip to Sydney for people. If they create a good trip for Sydney, they succeed in their job. The job sounds easy, but Dunbar worries that they won’t be able to work together.

Parisa likes to sing early in the morning. This doesn’t please anyone else in the house. For some reason Dunbar complains loudest about this. Not too her, of course. That’s Trisha’s job. She rats him out to Parisa. Parisa thought that Dunbar was her friend, but Trisha says he talks crap behind her back all the time.

Trisha really can’t drive and proves that she really is a young girl. She acts like she is in high school still. She also gets caught in a lie. Parisa is mean to the guys, since she believes they don’t like her. Once Dunbar gets confronted by Parisa he gets upset. Dunbar says that Trisha is the one that says all of the things about her and blames it on the guys.

In the end, Parisa confronts all the guys and they say they have no beef with her. So back and forth we go. Parisa now asks Trisha about what she said. Parisa can’t trust anyone and no one wants to take the blame. Cohutta does a little foreshadowing when he says the house could come to blows at any minute with all the talk. Hmm…are you thinking what I am thinking?

Newport Beach: The Real Orange County

Chrissy doesn’t want to leave Clay behind when she graduates high school. It will be so sad. Chrissy doesn’t want to call Clay her “boyfriend”. He is just a “thing”. Clay wants to make things work. They will be miles apart, but they will try the “long distance” thing.

Meanwhile, Allie tries to act “mature” and apologize to her dad for her disrespectful attitude. Really she just wants to go to Italy with all her other friends. Allie later invites Chase to a party. But Taylor can’t come. She also confronts him about getting back with her, etc.

Time for the big bonfire party. Of course, Chase brings, Taylor and Allie and Samantha feel “awkward”. They want to go home now. They don’t want to watch them makeout. No one knows why she is here. Is Taylor like a sophomore or something? Allie says they only wanted the juniors and seniors there. Chase jokes with Taylor that Allie is “secretly in love with him”.

Why is this show in “fast-forward” mode? It’s already graduation day. Perhaps they should have thought this show out more. Or maybe they didn’t want to drag it out more than they should have. Probably just uncertain if this show would catch on like Laguna Beach. Anyways Chase, Samantha, Sasha, Chrissy, and Allie graduate. Lets all cry as the “childhood” montage plays. Allie even gets to go to Europe. No surprise there. “Shut up!”

The thing I love about this show is the California accents. They are classic. They are stereotypical, but they are accurate in this case. Clay with his “dude” and Allie with her “whiny valley talk”. Next week is the season finale, though! What will happen to all of the relationships? Find out next week on a “very special episode”!

THURSDAY

Celebrity Rap Superstar

I continue to “fast-forward” through this show. This week the “celebs” perform with their rapping mentors. This might actually be decent. Here is a quick rundown of what happened on this episode:

- Sebastian Back and Korupt starts us off in a pretty good way.

- Kendra Wilkinson and Too Short get “hyphie” as they rap “Blow the Whistle”. Kendra shakes her ass. She still can’t rap that well.

- Shar Jackson and MC Lyte rap “Ruffneck”. Shar does the best so far to keep up with her mentor.

- Perez Hilton and Tone Loc rap “Funky Cold Medina”. I think Tone has been smoking WAY too much since he last made this song famous. That was just okay. Nothing too embarrassing.

- Countess Vaughn and Warren G were going to do “Regulate”. This would have been a classic, but Countess is done. Her voice is a wreck and she can’t sing for two weeks. So that means Countess Vaughn is the one gone this week!

- The final four is Shar, Sebastian, Perez, and Kendra. My money is on Shar, eventhough she has the most “boring” personality out of the remaining four. But we will see.

MONDAY

The Hills

A bunch of random things happen to start us off this week. Audrina has a boyfriend named Justin now. Or so she says. Elodie gives Heidi the “evil eye” at work, because she stole her job away from her. Still don’t know how that happened. Lauren tells Whitney that her “date” with Jason went good, like really good to see him again.

Whitney and Lauren have a big “Young Hollywood” party for Teen Vogue. They get ready for that, but have time to continue to discuss Lauren and Jason and Audrina and Justin. Lauren gets a call from Jason and he wants to go to dinner with her. They set up the date.

The date happens and it’s pretty interesting. Jason and Lauren go to dinner at Ketchup, a trendy Los Angeles eatery. Jason is not as cool as he seems on this show. Jason checks out random chicks in front of Lauren, which is hilarious. Here comes trouble! Spencer and Heidi happen to come eat at the same restaurant. Spencer makes a comment that it’s good to see Jason and Lauren together. They then crack jokes when Lauren and Jason can’t hear them. Stuff like that “maybe she picked him up from rehab” and “maybe they are back into the moviemaking action”. Jason wants to beat up Spencer. Lauren tells him to stay focused on her. She is above them. Heidi can’t believe that Lauren is with Jason when she yelled at her for being with Spencer. She actually has a slight point, but Heidi is still retarded. Jason and Lauren leave and talk about how Spencer never knew them when they were dating, so he has no room to talk. They end their date with the awkward “how should we say goodbye” moment. They just say goodnight and that’s that.

Whitney and Lauren discuss the aftermath of the date. Lauren says she sent back the drinks they sent them because “homeboy would poison my drink”. Lauren likes saying “homeboy” this season. Lauren tells Whitney that Jason never liked Heidi and thought she would always screw her over. Meanwhile, Heidi dicusses the date with Elodie. She can’t believe that Lauren won’t forgive her when she goes out with her abusive and con boyfriend. Elodie totally calls out Heidi in an awkward moment. She asks her why all of her friends dumped her. Not just Lauren. Audrina and Whitney don’t like her now either. Heidi has nothing to say to that. Burn!

Lauren and Jason meet up again to end this episode. Jason is trying to stay sober. None of his friends are sober, though. So Lauren says she will be his “sober buddy”. They can go bowling and out to the movies. A good joke about Lauren’s purse being from “her loser ex-boyfriend”. A playful jab at Jason. Oh, Heidi also whines about her job to Spencer.

Life of Ryan

Ryan and his friends are back from Cleveland and they are glad to be back home in sunny California on the beach. Ryan wants to have fun with a chill girl, but also have time to spend with his two younger brothers. Ryan’s friend, Casey, says he doesn’t know what he wants right now. Ryan tells Casey “nuggets”, which apparently means hot teenage girls. There are three of them now. That was an odd term for girls.

Apparently one of the girls that Ryan wants to hang out with is Julia, Tony’s ex-girlfriend. Ryan goes to see if it’s cool if he hangs out with Julia. Tony doesn’t really care, but says she is pretty dramatic. Ryan doesn’t think Tony is telling the truth, though.

Ryan blows off his little brother, Kane, for friends and girls. Ryan asks Casey if Tony is telling the truth about Julia or not. They then talk about shapes. Ryan is part of the triangle with Casey and his girlfriend, Taylor. Ryan says that they can slowly break Julia into “the square”. Hmm, interesting. They go on a double date. Julia looks a lot better without her sunglasses on. You have to love teenage dates. Apparently Casey and Taylor approve of Julia.

Later, Tony and his new girlfriend, Heather, arrive. It’s a little awkward, but then they all jump into the hot tub and that makes everything better! Ryan and Tony go talk about Julia. Tony says that he doesn’t care, but doesn’t think Julia is the right girl for him. Ryan says he needs Tony to like Julia as well.

Meanwhile, Kane is upset that Ryan is ignoring him. Kane is already overdramatic. Ryan’s mom tells him what Kane said to her. Ryan says he wants to do all of these things with Kane, but his mom says he forgets when something better comes along. Ryan eventually takes Kane to “Legoland California”. It seems like a fun amusement park. All is well between them again.

WEDNESDAY

The Real World: Sydney

The house is divided this week. It’s all about religion and gay people. Sydney has this “Gay Mardi Gras”. Shauvon, Issac, Dunbar, and Parisa are excited to go to it. Trisha, Cohutta, and Kelly Anne are not. In fact, they don’t go because apparently it goes against her religious beliefs. Now the other roommates have religious beliefs that are similar to the roommates who didn’t go, but it seems like they are taking this “Gay Mardi Gras” as just harmless fun.

Religion is a touchy subject. You don’t talk religion or politics and I won’t here. But really it is not as bad as it was bad out to be. The real test is to see if Trisha will really start to behave now that she “found God” again in the house. If she knows she shouldn’t drink so much, then prove it. It’s fine for this episode to be “good”, but can it last the rest of the season. That’s not very likely, but we will see.

The costumes that Shauvon, Parisa, Issac, and Dunbar put on where some of the craziest I have ever seen, especially Issac. I can’t wait to hear what Zach from The Real World: Key West thinks about that guy now. He’s the “joker” of the house, but he is also the most honest person in the house. He is not fake in any way. He is what he is and that’s refreshing.

Other fun stuff that happened in this episode. Dunbar tells the house that his grandfather tried to do some bad stuff to him. Not sure if he wanted pity or not, but it seemed to work at least for some of the girls in the house. Cohutta and Trisha now have a flirty relationship going on as well. Every girl loves a Southern guy. Yee-haw!

Newport Beach: The Real Orange County

The usual stuff this episode. A lot of talk about who is going out with who and who likes who. I will again break it down for you. Chrissy and Clay are hot and heavy. Chrissy wants to stay a virgin through high school. Clay seems to be “going hard to the hoop”, but we will see if he actually scores. Clay describes Chrissy as “chill”. Chill seems to be the new “random” this season, as in everyone says that word. California thing for sure.

Chase goes back and forth between Taylor and Allie. He will always have a thing for Allie, but apparently Taylor is the one he wants in the end. Allie seems over Chase. She doesn’t want to be in a “love triangle”. Allie should shut up. She first said Rome was a country. It’s a city. But then her friend Samantha says Italy is more like a state here than a country. Somewhat true, but not exactly right either. Allie also wants to go to Italy, because she loves Italian food. Later they talk more about food in Europe. Good lord. Lets move on shall we? Oh wait, before we do that, she gets mad at her parents when they say she can’t go to Europe. Apparently she booked the trip with the credit card her dad gave her. That IS mature! Allie has no clue. Nice zing from her dad, though, when he says “you promise” after she says she will never talk to him again if he doesn’t allow her to go. Funniest thing all episode!

Chase apologizes to Taylor. He wants to move past what happened last week. Taylor says she will think about giving him another chance. She doesn’t answer his calls at first. Eventually she does and they have dinner, which consists of pizza, at his house. They make up and all is well with them again.

More talk of Clay having sex with Chrissy. His friends, including Grant, try to create a gameplan for it to happen. It’s mostly retarded, though. For someone that says she wants to stay a virgin, Chrissy does a lot of shopping for some lingerie. Apparently Clay invites Chrissy over to his hot tub while his parents are out of town. Okay, I lied. The funniest thing is ALWAYS listening to Clay talk. Duuude! He talks with Chrissy about her being a virgin. He says he respects her being a virgin and won’t try to change her mind. Hmmm, interesting.

THURSDAY

Celebrity Rap Superstar

This week the “celebs” perform with another “celeb”. The worst two get put into the “bottom two” and one of them will go home. Here is a quick rundown of what happened on this episode:

- Sebastian Back and Shar Jackson rap a song called “It’s Tricky”. You know it, and love it. I don’t know who sings it, but it’s not bad.

- Countess Vaughn and Jason Wahler rap a song called “Nothing But A ‘G’ Thang” by Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg. No one can give that song justice, especially not Jason. Ugly!

- Shar Jackson raps a song called “No Time For Hatin’”. She airs out her issues.

- Finally, it’s Kendra Wilkinson and Perez Hilton. They rap a song called “Push It” by Salt & Pepa. That song was made for them.

- The judges get to save two teams and they are Shar and Sebastian and Perez and Kendra. That means Countess and Jason are in the “bottom two”.

- They now compete against each other. They sing “Can’t Let You Go” by Fabolous. That was really weak! In the end, Jason Wahler gets kicked off by the judges! Back to The Hills for you!

The Real World: Sydney – Episode 7

Dunbar…

I can never imagine what it would be like to grow up in the environment that he talks about. I am so fortunate to have parents that love me and tell me that every day. I am lucky. But to be brought up without the loving relationships that should exist between parents and children and living on your own at such a young age makes managing your own relationships that much harder. With no framework to use as what a loving relationship should look like, Dunbar has been forced to take life lessons of abuse and try to establish himself as a normal person in society. I really feel badly for him, although I am sure he is over people saying such. I honestly believe that this house will give him more tools than any anger class ever will. Although he may have more downs then ups in the near future, being around 6 other people who challenge him, comfort him, and care for him is really important.

Cohutta…

Can we please have some sort of captions for him when he speaks. I love his accent but please BM…give us a clue. I am from the Northwest, we don’t speak like that. HAHA. Seriously though, Isaac is right when he says slow down to “Putti.” My house had no relations for a reason. Too close for comfort, no space, no relief from cameras, no chance to get out alive!! It is just really hard. Really freaking hard to deal with a relationship in the house. You think flirting causes drama, try hooking up, then meeting a hot aussie at a bar, while your lady friend talks to her ex on the phone drunk…

PHEW!
